Hi Newbie17
I Have a set of both.
I started off with the rounded handles but I found it hurt my hands and fingers curling them around the handles.
I told my physio I Was having difficulty and she ordered me a new set .I had them within a week.
So now I use them both.I keep the palm set in the car to use them away from the house and I keep the ordinary ones in the house and I can also use the furniture to help me around.
The palm ones were free of charge however I Had paid previously £50 for the ordinary ones as I had an operation on my knee at Nuffield hospital .
The palm ones are great esp if you have pain gripping the circular handles.
Take care, hope you manage to find some.

Complete care shop have them cheap. Hope this helps.x
Ah right.. Where is that at please ? X
If you Google completecareshop it will come up on the internet. Sorry not allowed to give you the exact internet address on the forum as it is a commercial link but if you pop that in your browser you will soon find it. Good luck.x
Where I live there used to be a walk in clinic for people with mobility issues. They were run by council so walking aids were free. Occupational therapist can help with obtaining them. Have your social services/ council got an OT dept? They may be able to help you. Good luck
Hi Newbie17
They are called Fischer Walking Sticks and if you google you will be able to buy online. Prices range from about £5 each upwards to about £15 for pretty or folding ones.
Don't forget to order a left and/or a right if you need both as they are very different.
Also make sure you tick the box to not pay VAT.
Hope this helps

Hi Newbie17 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.
It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.
Have you been diagnosed with Fibro ? I see your question has been answered, so just wanted to say Hi & look forward to chatting on the site.
Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.
Peace, luv n light

Are you in UK?. I got mine on NHS from physiotherapist at local hospital about 4 years ago when my others were causing me wrist pain and physiotherapist noticed they were odd. I can also get the ferrules (rubber ends) replaced when they wear or split as I just go back to physio department when needed. I have asked if platform crutches would be better for me as I have neck and shoulder pain but was advised not to use the platform crutches as this would make me hunch my shoulders more. Maybe ask your gp to refer you to physio so you can be properly measured for the right height etc.
N H S Go see your doctor
Hi Emy.. I have already asked my doctor, but he didn't seem interested.
Hi Newbie17
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have received a great deal of disability aids from an ''Occupational Health assessment'' via Social Services. This may be worth a try? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
There more expensive £80 a pair but smart crutches are meant to be great, they are supposed to take the strain out of the wrist and into the forearm. Fortunately at this time I don't need crutches but if I ever do I'll see about this route as I have really weak wrists
Hi Newbie17
Went to the Drs and asked if I could have some NHS elbow crutches and he said yes no problem he sent me to physio and I got a pair of blue ones, as some one else said try social service. Hope you get sorted.
Love & Hugs
