Left Shoulder Pain

Hi, this hurts more at night than daytime but hurts in bed when I try and move or turn. I have been taking nurofen today which has helped a bit but will see how I get on tonight. I was getting anxious because when you read on the internet some of the things you read for shoulder pain are alarming :(

Yes, reading about side effects can be overwhelming. You should only experience a few of them or none at all. Many go away after the 1st few weeks. I have hip pain that interferes with my sleep and sounds similar to yours. My rheumy is having me go to physical therapy because he says I need my muscles trained to be stronger and that my pain is referred pain from my spine. I have some disc problems in my lower spine. I wonder that he may be wrong or the pain may move to my spine due to this therapy, so the jury's out on that one. I wish you great success with your treatment.

Blessings...

Thanks Sue. I'm not having any treatment at the moment apart from nurofen which have helped a bit at night. I am not due to see my GP until middle of the month but have other things to mention and you only get so long. But if it's not gone by then I will make it the priority.

Good luck with your own treatment too.

Bright blessings

Hi FoggyMoggy

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering so much with your shoulder and I sincerely hope that your pain eases soon for you my friend. There are some alarming things come up when you read about shoulder pain on the internet? I would talk to your doctor about this just to remove other medical conditions from the equation.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Thanks Ken

Yes, the alarming things, especially in the US, are about lung cancer, and as family members have died from this it got me alarmed :(

Hi honey I've suffered with a bad shoulder for years and like you its worse at night .about 8 years ago I was told to try sleeping propped up taking weight of of my shoulder. And it worked it also eased the pain in my neck and my head .it stops you rolling on to your bad side as much .I now have a bed that raises at the top and bottom .people think these beds are mega expensive but shop about but don't go to a mobility shop just normal bed shops if your on disability you don't have to pay the vat on them making it much cheaper. Mine cost 750. For a double with split mattress. I also use lidocaine patches .hope this may help you .Jo x

Thanks Jo. That is very helpful. I will see how the pain goes. It may ease with any luck. Do you need to get the lidocaine patches on prescription?

Thanks

Hi, I've suffered with shoulder pain for such a long time now. Like you i find it hard to turn over as the pain can't be quite severe sometimes. I'm at the moment under physio with it but I find that a load of tosh. I did however have acupuncture while at physio and I found that a great help and I've also had two steroid injections which also helped for a month or two but doesn't last. Some days I feel my shoulders ok and then a certain movement and wow the pain hits me like an electric shock... I don't read up on the internet as sometimes it can be quite frightening.. Hope you find some relief in your pain..

Love and hugs spirit xx❤️xx
