Along with fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Insomnia and all the other associated symptoms of these disorders I regularly have a squeaky eye. My GP said he had never heard of it before...!
I was wondering if anyone else in the community here has this or knows anything about it...? Thanks
I get a sensation in my eyes when I am overtired sometimes but I have never thought of it as squeaky eye.
I have a noise when I blink sounds almost squishy (not squeaky). But this may be different from what you are experiencing.
It sounds quite loud to me and I have asked my husband if he can hear it and he says no.
It has disappeared by the next day or even later in the day.
I have never given it much thought as it has normally cleared on its own and is not painful, nor is it disrupting my vision ,but what you are getting may be something else.
If you are uneasy about it get it checked out even if only to rule out something nasty.
I suffer with my left eye it feels as though there water behind my eyelid my left eye waters mostly when I'm tired it doesn't hurt but it is annoying xx
Squeaky eye? Please explain. I don't quite understand but I am very sorry for all the discomfort you are going through and I hope 2017 will be a better year for you.
I suffer from dry eyes sometimes I get gel tears from the doctor my eyelids stick to my eye , I thought that i was going blind the first time it happened , maybe your eyes are dry and that can be causing the squeaky sound. As you gp for eye drops or I find the gel better it's easy to apply as well.
The strange things that we get with fybromyalgia some time it can even be the medication we take that cause the other symptoms.
I sometimes have dry eyes and other times I have runny eyes you would think that I am crying lol
I hope that you get something for your squeaky eye
That is quite interesting so I have done a bit of reading up and apparently it is quite a natural thing that some people can do? I have pasted you an excerpt below from the *Doctors explained website below:
*this squeaking is the sound of air escaping through the puncta—tiny tubes that connect your eyes to the lacrimal sac, where tears come from. Air can get into this sac through the naso-lacrimal duct that connects the sac to the nose. (The connection between eyes and nose is also the reason your nose runs when you cry.)
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
Yes I was that it I have e always had problems with sinuses and allergies and out it down to a build up of fluid. I know it is a really strange sensation.x
I have had squeaky eyes for years. Both my GP and my opthalmologist have never heard of it before. I was beginning to think that it was unique to me. For those that don't know what it is - when I rub my eyes they make a squeaky sound. Would love to know what causes it.
