Yes they give you the extra £10 because of you being on a disability benefit and it normally comes separately. I had mine the other day it will go towards the cost of servicing my car, every little but helps. Don't spend it all at once, lol.😀

When it was first introduce it would buy the cost of a Christmas dinner, nowadays it only covers the cost of Christmas cards and stamps!

Still, as my mother used to say "It is better than being poked in the eye with a sharp stick!"

(She was always saying odd things!)

That's not odd bluebell99 , just old. Where I come from it was always a burnt stick - don't ask me why :D

I was advuised with my last assessment to expect a christmad bonus of £10!! I said I would donate mine to FMA/UK and I will if it comes my way../

This is your Xmas bonus.

Sometimes it's paid along with your usual monthly sum ,or sometimes it's paid separately.

Don't spend it all at once-- ha ha.

Take care.

Hi my friend,

I have pasted some interesting information about the Christmas bonus below from yesterday's *Daily Telegraph:

*When it was launched by *** *****s Tory government in 1972, the bonus payment was worth £98 in today's money.

The £10 Christmas boost was then worth more than the £6.75 basic state pension. The basic pension is now £95.25 a week.

The bonus has declined in real terms ever since it was introduced, apart from two years in the mid-1970s when it was suspended altogether by Labour PM ******* ******.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
