How long is a piece of string really mark! it depends where you live and how on the ball and empathetic the assessor was to your case. is this your first attempt? Have you been offered or applied for PIP? we have a wonderful lady on the Forum called Janet who is a whizz with benefits and advise. stay with us and let us know how it goes...I got my ESA in less than 4 weeks!!

I have applied for esa to as im not fit to work but I was told I would need to attend interview for job aswell. I don't uderstand why? She goes if I don't attend I won't get my allowance. Can I refuse to attend that if doc says Im not fit to work? Alot of pressure isnt good for my health.

Hi

The answer is no if you fail to attend you can be sanctioned

Unfortunately as Caz says it is according to area, how many decisions they have to make and I think it is always slower over the Xmas/New Year period.

Unfortunately as Rose says you will have to attend that work related interview as you haven't actually had your assessment decision yet and they can make sanctions such as suspending your benefits. You might find you are interviewed by a Disability Officer and they can actually be very sympathetic so don't get too worried about that.

Do hope you hear soon and it all goes in your favour.x

Hi Mark2466

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

Unfortunately, as the others have said it is impossible to tell how long these things are going to take my friend. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your outcome and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
