Hi all went and had my acupuncture done on my right side of my bottom where my muscle was very tight woke up this morning and there was no pain. Wednesday I am going to have the left side done and hoping for the same results. Then one more time on Friday on both sides. I never believed in acupuncture before as I had done had it done twice before and it done nothing for me. But my doctor did it for me this time and it has worked. I am so happy as I don't know a lot about acupuncture and if it was successful or not but this time it was. So happy days for me. I can't begin to say how happy I am after all I have gone through this year with pain every single day and night. One of my wishes is for a lot of people here on the site to get results and reduce pain. I would like to know if acupuncture has also helped for other people or not. Also how long does it work for? I wish all of my friends on here good spirits and good health.

This wishes Jane 101 😄😘XX

Hello Jan yes I have tried acupuncture with good results, its hard to find a qualified person where I live I had to travel into the big city hospital for mine, that was ok when I worked there but now an hour by 3 buses is too much. I had an MRI scan of coccyx area with nil found and so I am assuming it is fibro related. I am going to ring the physio at Manch royal and ask her if I can go on her list again for some more acupuncture, other than that book for some private work with a Chinese practitioner nearby.

I am glad that it was successful for you the first time. Sometimes I know it's hard but to travel and get the result is the best thing. When I first tried it acupuncture that is I was in a place and found out it was a front line for a brothel I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It wasn't until I came out that my husband told me what was going on. So I won't be going there again. I now have a Doctor who does it at have my local hospital. My friends and family could not stop laughing of all places for me to pick had to be one of them. At the time I did not think it was funny but no I can laugh 😂 I am back to see my doctor tomorrow and Friday I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have good results as I have had the first time. I really hope you find someone really good and it helps with pain. Take good care my friend. 😘XX

Hi there

I tried acupuncture once but not for Fibro.

I tried it for anxiety but it didn't help at all.

I think we all get to the point where we will try anything for some relief.

I hope it continues to help you.

Lu xx

Hi BlueMermaid 3

Sorry to hear that you did not help you. Like me the first two times he did not help me also. But I saw my doctor and he did it with very good results. I see him again tomorrow and Friday so I'm hoping for good results again. I also agree with you when we are in pain desperation kicks in and we will all try anything that might help. You take good care and I hope all goes well for you. 😘 XX

P.S I had 3 sessions of acupuncture (thigh) to try and ease a back problem years ago - I ended up in agony/could hardly move so I was told it was no good for me - really???

It is good to hear of successful treatment. It hadn't even occurred to me to consider acupuncture. It will be interesting to find out how long it gives you relief.

Fancy going in to a house of ill repute, it is funny you didn't realise :) :) :)

What a hoot!

Hi

No I was in so much pain and desperate to try anything. Yes I agree with you I really see the funny side now. I even told the doctor and he thought it was funny too. I will let you know how long the relief lasts for. 😘XX

Hi Bulebell99

No I was so desperate to get out of pain I could not have given a monkeys who was going upstairs. Only joking 😂😂 at least the second time I saw my private doctor at his clinic in the hospital and he is very good and specialises in lots of areas of pain. He deals with a lot of professional footballers, rugby players ect. I also told him and he found it to be very funny too. My family said of all people it had to be me. 😄 However I must say the last few days I have done more than I have done in the last year. How long this will last for I'm not quite sure at the moment, but hoping for it to continue.

Hi Janet28

Yeah give it a try and see how you go. It's like most things we don't know what helps until we try it, even with the medication. Lots of good luck and I hope you feel well for Christmas or the best you can love. Take good care and best wishes. Jan 101 👍👍 xx

I have been paying privately to see so done trained in Chinese medicine and acupuncture for about 4 months now as I was so desperate for any relief from the pain. I just had constant r pain. In my left hip and down my thing and lower back and it was just 24/7. Xrays showed that I has moderate osteo but not enough to have a replacement hip nor to explain the excruciating pain and as I am on alot of meds more weren't an option. I had had no success with the NHS 8 sessions.

Within a couple of sessions the pain has literally gone from a 9 to 6 in those areas. He has had some success with the lower back pain and my energy levels but other pains unfortunately haven't changed. I have been pleased though that he has vast knowledge of Fibromyalgia and has given me good advice on diet and he really listens and tries to tune it each time to what is bothering me the most. Yes it uses most of my PIP money but to me any reduction in the pain is worth it. I do hope you have continued success with it.x

I'm so glad this is working for you. I know I have my own worries and wonders of that but I haven't seen one around here though I haven't looked that hard.

I'm so glad though that this is working for all of you.

Enjoy your day or night or whatever.

Good morning at this very early hour. Went yesterday for my 2nd acupuncture and when I got home are you started pick me up some Christmas decorations. Maybe I made a mistake as I have walk up this morning at 3:15 AM and lower back is sore. So feeling a bit disappointed in myself. Maybe I should come home and rested and left the decorations another day. But it is getting closer to Christmas and is my favourite time of year. I just hope that I will still get some results from the acupuncture as the first time was so successful. Fingers crossed I will rest tomorrow. Do you think I haven't done his work by doing some Christmas decorations? I look forward to your reply. I hope you are feeling as well as can be. Once again thank you for your advice My good friend. 🙏 XX

I have had accupuncture on my shoulders with very positive results and would highly recommend it, In fact I'm making an appointment today to have another course as I'm having niggling pains again in my shoulder which I haven't had since having accupuncture in August, so yes I would defo recommend it!

Hi when I first went I was very sceptical and I was in so much pain I was so depressed but the relief it gave me was just amazing after just 5 sessions and had lasted for 4/5 months and even at that it's just a niggle I have at minute, nothing like I was when I first went, so good luck I hope it works for you xx

Shaz1972 Good luck my friend.

My physio uses acupuncture needles in my back/bottom. It really relaxes the muscle, sadly it doesn't last and get only between an hour to a week of relief. Sadly it's not permanent for me but my muscles are so thight that I'm glad to have some relief, it really helps my mobility .

Hope you get relief for longer :-)

Hi dutchbendygirl

I had my acupuncture Monday Wednesday and Friday. I had good results Monday and Wednesday, but on the Friday where the GP put the needles my skin puckered and I got white spots. My GP had not seen that before so took a picture show me and he said he was not sure why that happened. I had good results on Monday and Wednesday but on the Friday I was very sore. How long I will get for I am not quite sure. But I do take a lot of painkillers and muscle relaxants. So today was a good day for me I have a Christmas shopping. Happy days. 😄 Today has been one of my best days so I am very happy about that. As my GP said he cannot keep me on diazepam for too long as they are not a good drug. I do wonder why that is if diazepam helps relax the muscles and the pain away and my not let us have them. I hope you are keeping pain-free at the moment I do wish you well. Take care Jan 101 🙏XX
