Hi

Ive been to the doctors and I'm back on pregablin. I've to take them for a month or so and then go back before I go off them again or to see if I need to take them for a while longer. I'm not too happy but hey if it helps me get through this then that's what needs to be done.

Reading through some of the other posts I do believe that the change in weather and the clocks going back has a lot to do with how we are all feeling.

Hi JoJO make sure you get docs appt. before the pregab run out as you might get awful withdrawal if you just stop them. What have you tried already meds and therapy wise?

Hi Caz

I will do thank you. I've already been off them before and I no that I've to come off them gradually.

Over the years of having fibro I've tried a lot of tablets. But you get to a stage where enough is enough and I get fed up taking them. I've started to excerise again and do zumba as I love it. Yes im sore after and for a day or so I've got a few.niggles.but boy do I feel good in doing it. Although I wasn't there this week and probably won't be next week due to this flare.

What have you taken previously that you find works for you?

Yes me too Tc- I went thru numerous pills and rejected them or at least my body did- I go to hydrotherapy weekly, its a warm pool made only for exercise not swimming, I cant stand cold! I have a work out to do stretching muscles and joints, I also had recently a B12 injection at my g.p surgery which has lifted fatigue quite well, Like you I don't think pills are always the answer but I do take prescription co dyramol for OA, steroid injections for calcium crystal disease and sumatriptine for onset of migraine, so I do depend on some but for fibro keeping agile has proved good over 15years.

Hi Caz

I really kind that going through the pain clinic to see a psychologist has really.helped me. I wasn't too sure at first due to a.bad experience I had years ago but it's been so good. I learnt a lot and wish I had it sooner. I take B12 tablets as well every day as I didn't want the injection.

Like you I find heat helps more than cold as well. Have you ever used tiger balm, I love the stuff.

Hi JoJo32

I very much hope that the Pregabalin works for you 😊

There is a side effect that is not known about as much the usual side effects which is that it can lower your mood to a point where you are in a very dark place.

Obviously not everyone gets this side effect but it is worth keeping an eye on your mental health.

My personal opinion is that on the whole, we look after our physical health, but don't tend to think about our mental health too.

They are both as important as each other.

Please take care of yourself.

Hi

Thank you. I do feel at the minute that I'm in a better place mentally than what I was this time last year. But I will make sure that I look out for any signs.

Hi Jo

I actually went through this myself and it was a horrible experience, but I do suffer with Clinical Depression so I am sure that didn't help.

It did worry me that I had to work out for myself what was going on as my GP didn't mention anything about the low mood side effect.

If you feel yourself going downhill seek help as soon as you can.

Take care of yourself.

Hi

Thank you for your reply. I will also discuss with my other half to make sure that he is aware as well. I was previously on pregablin for over four years and it was the weight gain that was the main side effect for me.

Thank you again for your words.

Good luck with restarting the Pregablin hope it really helps. I don't think I could function swell without it as it certainly helps with the burning, stabbing pains. Hope the flare goes soon for you and you are right the weather doesn't help.x

Thank you. I hope I get on as well with it and I don't put all my weight I lost when of it back on. All of my symptoms did come back and the burning sensations were awful but I felt better within myself. Does that make sense?

Yes totally understand. I felt I have lost a bit of myself being on Pregablin but my shooting, burning pains were so unbearable some days I could hardly breathe. Yes I have had to be stringent with myself on Pregablin as I have developed a much sweeter tooth I was really a savoury lover before and with not being able to do alot of exercise like I used to it is easy to pile the pounds on.x

Hi

I hope that it works for you as it did for me the first time I was.on for over four years. It does help with the burning so I will give it a go again and see how I get on.
