Fed up & feeling poorly.

Hi,I went to see my G.P yesterday for a check up .I mentioned that my mouth was still sore (she treated me for thrush a few weeks ago.When she looked in my mouth she seemed shocked and said " How did it get that bad, you have fissures in your tongue too ?!!" she was quite worried and said she thinks it is thrush again.I'm having problems with my throat,swallowing and choking so it's spread down there as well!!

I cashed in my prescription for some anti fungal capsules.Boots didn't have all of the tablets so asked me to come back tomorrow,,,no problem.

well I went to take the first capsule last night,I dutifully read the instructions about how to take them and was immediately confused by the line that said the course is one capsule. Umm but the Dr said to take them for a week?! The next thing that confused me was that I had 2 boxes with 1 blister pack in,each blister pack had 4 tablet shaped empty blisters and one full capsule shaped blister.Anyway I took one of the capsules .I rang Boots today and got a not very nice woman on the phone who cut me off as they had to evacuate due to the fire bell going off.Meanwhile (feeling iller by the minute) I rang my drs who said yes that's OK take the other capsule today and go to Boots to collect the rest tomorrow.They just have a funny way of packaging them.Next Boots rang back,not very nice lady again,said she only has one more capsule and will have to order more.I said well I am supposed to finish the course so what do I do? she almost shouted,well I can't magic them up! she put me through to the pharmacist who said was I feeling any better (after one tablet? if it was supposed to cure it that quickly I'm in trouble!) she will need to ring the GP as a lower dose is normally given for a longer amount of time.I'm still waiting for her to get back to me,my mouth is on fire and I'm worn out !!!!!!

Oh amanda poor you and a confused you...there was me thinking I had problems. My sister had that some years ago but she was give a spray that basically helped with the swelling and took off the burning sensation i think it was difflan its used for sore throats usually she was given some capsules and asked to gargle with tcp for a week, it did clear up over the week dont know if that will help you but you could ask the chemist well if you can find one that is more caring than the one you go too.

Oh dear Poor Amanda your mouth sounds as if it has real problems hope your chemist gets herself sorted and then maybe you can get better,

Treat it very gently tcp will help a little xgins

well, the pharmacist had rung the GP and changed the prescription so today I collected a weeks course of the same capsules but at a lower strength.wish they'd get it right first time! maybe I can start to get well now.

Thrush isn't very nice I had and so did my daughter when she was still in arms and of course we kept infecting each other. Glad yours has hopefully been sorted out it's dreadful having a bad mouth you can't concentrate on anything else. Get well soon.
