Problems with vision

Good morning fibro family, I hope you are all as well as can be today. Does anyone have any experience of varifocal specs making eyesight issues worse ?

I have always had fibro related issues with my vision, difficulty focusing, blurred vision when fatigue sets in.

I have been trying to adjust to new varifocal specs for about ten days now but they feel as though they are actually making my sight worse instead of better !

Any tips or advice before I give up on them completely would be very welcome.

I have been wearing varifocals for over 20 yrs and quite often have to go back to have them adjusted to ensure I am looking through the right bit. Sometimes they might need to tweak the prescription too. You don't say if this is your first pair - it does take a while to adjust, but worth it as makes life much easier.

Morning....My optician didn't recommend varifocals for me because of my neck problems so I was stuck with 2 pairs until recent years when my long site has improved so now I only need them for reading.....x

Hiya Sharon I'm currently using 2 pair but it has been mentioned that I go to one pair next time so I'm interested in how your getting on. What make's you think your sight is worse after 10 days? X

Thank you all for your replies, it is my first pair of varifocals so I will persevere a bit longer with them. When I say that my sight is worse, what I mean is, my eyes feel worse, they actually ache, it feels like the constant adjustments between the lenses is just too much for my eyes.

Thanks again for your replies, sending gentle hugs to everyone xx

Hi Sharon,

If you look to the Related Posts in blue in the right you will be able to read of other members experiences.

Personally I only have reading glasses but I know fibro causes me double vision and colours fading some days as well as everything blurring from time to time.

Sounds like you need to persevere a little longer with your new glasses, it took my hubby quite a while but he wouldn't be without them now.

Hi SharonH61

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are having issues with your varifocal specs and I have to admit that I have never tried any as I really do not think I could cope with them? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with this issue and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
