It might be best to check with doctors as it's still early days from surgery, would hate to give wrong advice with it, take care and hope you find something to help xx

Oh dear....Can you check with your Physio or the surgeon to find out if what is happening is as it should be. I hope you find some relief soon as my OH has it as well and I appreciate how painful it is....x

Hi fibroglow- it might be that the physio went in too harsh with you, they often do! next session just insist on easy goes it.. I find warm water help me like a soak in a warm bath(not hot) or a visit to a hydro pool or Jacuzzi , a warm water bottle on the affected area, and I have a TENS machine which has several settings for mild to severe pain.

Been reading Tumeric Good For Inflammatory issues. Have to be careful as got Hernia. But can't Take Other Antinflamtory Medicine as very Asthmatic. XXX

I always recommend McTimoney Chiropracters to everyone. I saw one and he sorted out my sciatica- i used to get electric feelings down my legs it was horrible and stopped me sleeping. He totally sorted it out. Xx

Hi my friend

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I tend to use my TENS Machine on my compressed sciatic nerve. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I had back surgery in May and the Consultant recommended gentle core strengthening exercises from the Physio. Also, no ironing, no laundry and no vacuuming. It appears your Physio did indeed start you off too hard. Glad you're seeing your Consultant soon.

Yes regular sessions in a hydrotherapy pool have alleviated my sciatica. The Physio said it was the piriformis muscle that needs to be exercised. It is a wonderful feeling to get into the really warm water and find exercising is so much easier, well recommend.

My GP arranged an appointment with Physio Dept at local Hospital who in turn recommended exercise in the hydro pool. Good luck x

I always use gentle Yoga exercises, but as you are recovering from surgery I would hesitate to suggest doing exercise without a doctor's advice.

Hi just saw your post. My opinion is physios aren't always right, you know your pain don't let them push you. A physio made mine rupted disc put a full twist on my spine I landed in A&E hours later. Just take things slowly

See if the physio can see you in a hydro pool. I can go every week to my hosp down the road for treatment but pay only £3 for it. there are 3 or 4 of us and one or two physios. It works out very well for fibro and arthritis. they are called self help sessions.
