Hi Paula....I am sorry I cannot help with your question but I am sure someone will point you in the right direction....maybe our own Benefits Advisor (except she is not available for about a week) or another member who has been through this...I wish you every success...x
I can only say to you get the support and backing from all your medics In writing! Only when the assessors have all this up to date info will they reassess you. I got ESA then PIP afterwards fortunately I don,t need a mobility yet! but I had letters of my condition, treatment, future outlook from physio, hospital consultants (even if you have more than one speciality) g.p. ask them to clearly state that you have chronic illness and that your future will not get better but more manageable with mobility.. Good luck..
I've been on long term ESA for about 2-3 years, just received my second call up. Contact our Benefits Advisor - you may be able to appeal your appeal. When I was kicked off Incapacity Benefit 15 years ago it took me two appeals to win.
I totally understand the mobility issue. Most of my money goes on taxi fares so I don't go completely bonkers stuck in the house all the time.
I am so genuinely sorry to read this but I have not been through anything of this nature. You could start by ringing them and saying there is a change to your circumstances? But you do risk losing your 'Personal Care' component as these things do go both ways.
I have pasted you a link to the GOV.UK cache about this below:
It is possible to request a reassessment for PIP based on an ESA assessment. For example, if you were getting just a PIP care award and no mobility at all, but ESA put you in the support group and the assessment said this was because you could not walk 50 metres reliably, safely or repeatedly, then this is a strong case for a PIP award of Standard rate mobility.
