Hi I attended my dla appeal today, but was told I'd get decision today while I was there by a friend, do they normally tell you or as they says they will send me the decision by mail?

I was told at my appeal but had to have it confirmed by letter. It took a few weeks before I heard.

If they're running slightly behind they will often write instead of tell you on the day. It doesn't mean the answer is no. They would normally see you and ask questions, then spend some time discussing the case before coming to a conclusion and letting you know. If they're running late I assume they do the discussion and make the decision later in order to avoid keeping the next person and any support/legal representatives waiting. How did you feel it went?

I felt it went OK but the judge says they had too look it from I applied as lots have happened after it was year yesterday I applied and she says I would get it on appeal so I'm thought they didn't want to backdate it

With ESA they tend to tell you on the day but if running late they probably will discuss their decisions at the end of the day and then they have no choice but to notify by post. Fingers crossed for you.x
