Hi I go to aqua aerobics - love it - 45mins of fun with minimal pain 😊x

Hi

I am afraid I had bad reactions to them and other meds they tried me on and am now on antidepressants and migraine tabs.

I do gentle stretches and do swim, but not as much as I used to. I can't walk far, if I do or if I over do the exercise I suffer the next day or more.

I have extra vits and magnesium, I was shown to be low in both vit d and mag, lots of fibro sufferers are apparently. I also take multi vits and herbal sleeping tabs. I have hemp tabs in the evening to help me relax and I use Volterol gel. I use a hand held massager and jacuzzi too. A dr apparently advised a man with MS to take the Suppliment D-ribose, which helps muscles get energy, this is explained on google and so is hem and both can be bought on line at Amazon. I do take aspirin etc to help when I go through a bad phase.

Good luck and remember pacing yourself is important.

Best wishes.

I rely more on maintaining the mobility I have, many cant, as I react badly to most meds. You must be careful not to overdo exercise, I usually do half hour walk and exercises given by physio xx

Hi mollpoll

Are you currently taking Pregabalin and considering coming off it?

If so, as with any medication at all, you need to wean very slowly off it, with the help of your GP.

I hadn't been taking Pregabalin very long earlier this year, but decided it really wasn't working for me. I spoke with my GP and weaned off it really slowly.

I'm sorry to say that I had a blinding headache bordering on a migraine every single day for at least 6 weeks.

I have chatted with others who have also had exactly the same withdrawal symptoms.

For me personally I found that the longer I was taking the Pregabalin the more my mood deteriorated. I do suffer with chronic clinical depression, and it did take me a while to make the connection with the Pregablin.

I ended up in a very very dark dangerous place.

Of course that does not mean the same will happen to you. I just wanted to make you aware of the possible side effect because I wasn't warned about it by my GP.

I admire people who manage to go drug free. I did try myself, but I just couldn't handle the pain. I struggle enough with my meds, let alone without.

The thing about Fibro is finding your own way of coping with it.

I am very proud that I managed to push through the pain and work full time for over 30 years.

It seems that my body has decided that enough is enough.

Good luck with finding what suits you. It is very much a matter of trial and error and I wishing you all the very best with it.

Many Fibro sufferers are deficient in Vitamin D, B12 and folate It is worth having your levels tested if your GP is happy to do this for you.

Wishing you a peaceful weekend

Thank you for your advice. I'm hoping yo reduce my meds slowly . I to work 30hrs. But have chosen to drop a day so I can focus on more exercise to maintain my pain and fatigue . I was incredibly fit till the pain started so need to pace myself as i do tend to go overboard when having a good day which sets me back weeks

Unfortunately we all do that! I've lived with Fibro for 30 years and still haven't learned my lesson 😐

I was incredibly fit too. Used to play badminton in my lunch hour and ran long distance and cross country for my school.

I suffered a severe trauma which put paid to my job and then having Pneumonia was the last straw.

Please just don't go too mad on the exercise. It's the opposite way for Fibromites. If it hurts it's not doing you any good.

Pilates and yoga are the best exercise.

I learned the hard way. Try not to push yourself too much xx

PS Have a read up about locking your posts under Pinned Posts on your right in blue. If you need any help give me a shout ☺ xx

I have never taken this medication, but I would definitely recommend the walking and swimming.... my motto is "little and often"..... as soon as you start to feel any pain, then stop, don't try to carry on ... gradually build up ... I can now swim for 30minutes and walk for 30minutes. I also find gentle yoga and gentle stretching are good, good luck xxx

I have been on Pregablin for 6 years now not at the top dose as it would make me feel too out of it but at the dose I am in I can function and it does help with the burning, shooting pains which without it are intolerable. I haven't tried to come off it so unfortunately can't help you with that but I know the longer you have been on it the more gradual the withdrawal has to be.

As far as exercise is concerned most fibromites have to take things very slowly as otherwise they reap the consequences in yet more pain and fatigue. On my worse days I still try to d o gentle stretching exercises. Walking especially on grass rather than hard surfaces are good. Many people have found success with Tai Chi and yoga and swimming can be good.x

I am on low dose Pregabalin and I am not suffering any side effects at this level. One of the worse known side effects is weight gain. I have pasted for you below a link to the Lyrica website with all the side effects etc on:

All my hopes and dreams for you

I wouldn't recommend Pregabalin. I now find it an awful drug.Yes I have been ok on it but being wrongly told to miss evening n morning dose of 225mg. each I collapsed in colonoscopy waiting room and went into drug withdraw all shock.I ended up on canulla pumped with drugs for 2 days and on trying to walk my right side giving way.In a month and still not walking outside.Advised to reduce it by 50 mg can day sent me into drugh withdrawal again suffering extremely bad.Now reduced it 25mg a day at tea one week and catching up with 25mg a day at morning dose. This way side effect less severe.Don't know when my walking will return thou

I didn't realise being on 450mg a day would be so bad for me.Doctor just kept increasing it
