Hi not been on in a while as been very ill with one thing after another, I ended up in hospital 4 months ago with what they though was fall bladder troubles but turns out it wasn't so on Tuesday I had to get scopes down both directions and it turns out I have a sliding hitius hernia and they took 4 biopsies from my small bowel, anyway if lost nearly 2 stone in 4 months due to not being able to eat or drink, was just wondering if any of you lovely ppl have had any these problemsand also being checked for celiac disease, just feel as though since diagnosed with fibro all those years ago I seem to be having problem after problem with my health x

Hello- its Nurse Gladys Emanuel (open all hours) Mr Arkwright and I have had acid reflux, hiatus hernia and oesophagitis for many years, I recently had the same as you (under sedation) because I was suspected to have costochondritis, still don't, know if I have, now been forwarded to ENT -next year!! I have taken meds for years for these problems and so they shoudn,t re appear BUT if you get a new med to take sometime they destroy the P.P.I meds and you get the GERD as its called.. You can ask a good pharmacist for something to calm it down until a g.p or consultant decides on what course of action to take, its important to ask a pharmacist because he/she will need to know what other meds you take or injections you have so that they can advise you well.

just read your reply to the above post ,my stomach been so painful today -hurts to eat,just off to dr for hearing test will pop into the pharmacy whilst in town

Sounds as though you have been through the mill lately. Everyone I know who has had coeliac disease have found things very rough until they got the right medication so I am wondering whether that is your problem. Hiatus hernia can also cause alot of eating f problems as well. Do hope that you can get some answers.x

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and it does sound like you have had a great deal on your plate just recently. I had a blood test for coeliac disease a long time ago and often wondered if this was adequate? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself my friend.
