Hi Denise I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I'm not any medical expert but it sounds to me like you've got something else going on with the swelling in your muscles? Not everything can be put down to Fibro - do you think you might be able to show your doctor? I thought Fibro was caused by a brain processing disorder so the swelling might be indicating that you have a physical problem going on too, that could be treatable. I hope you get some answers and that you feel in less pain soon. Take care today x

Hi.

That's great if they help you pain. Yes I have been seen by pain clinics since 2005 & all they give me is more Pain not less . Yes I have exhausted the Morphine Patches, I'm now on Trans Tec Patches. Yes it will be much better to just have one Dc to deal with. What do they say about "kitchens with too may cooks " that's me at the moment.

Steve.

How did you get on with the morphine patches and how are you getting on with the trans Ted patches ❓❓❓

Steve49 profile image
Steve49β€’ in reply toFibrodenise

Hi, I started on the lower dose then it increased to the max dose.

These as like my other meds didn't make any difference at all.

Due to this they have now given me the Trans Tec Patches to try.

These patches haven't made any real difference to be honest.

I need to restart the process off finding out which meds work & which ones don't

I'm so sorry. Around some knots I feel it is puffy, but if you are talking about something different then that I would go get it checked out, just to be safe.

Ginger tea might help, I would add peppermint tea for flavor and I think it might have added benefits too.

Hope it gets better.

Just to say welcome to the forum. All these different symptoms really get us down sometimes especially if like you and many others including myself have other illnesses to contend with. I think waiting for tests etc doesn't help as that just stresses us out more. Do let us know how you are doing and I look forward to your future posts.x

Hi Denise,

As all above have said, welcome to our community, here we share, comfort, help, suggest, and love. Yes, you will find that emotion kicks in sometimes when you read replies, and get to know us.

Steve has started the ball rolling for you, by asking for more details, especially the meds.

Do you have Rheumatoid Arthritis, or waiting to be diagnosed ? My fingers became swollen overnight, to the point that I couldn't get the tips to touch the palm. With the finger pain was elbow pain, another nerve Chanel that became inflamed.

I started this about 11.45am, but the time and jobs and shopping meant I couldn't reply fully till now. Now it's 9.05pm as I finish. That's how this site works there is no judgement about how long it took to reply. I have gone into posts that are three days old, and the poster read and replied the same.

Ask awkward questions, they are the best, naked people think and give better answers. Mix have been on here for two months, and have gained so much information, made so many friends, learnt so much about Fibro !

But the most important thing, has been the love, care, concern, and the support to cope. Hope you find the same as me, the best site to be on.

So, love Hayesider !

Hi Fibrodenise

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

fmauk.org/

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering and struggling so much and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues. If your symptoms persist or get any worse please discuss them with your doctor just to get other medical conditions ruled out of the equation. Swellings as you have described are not usually associated with Fibro and so please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Welcome Fibrodenise.....I haven't been with the group long but I can assure you that I have learnt so much about our condition of Fibro and related diseases. They are a lovely lot of people and you can rant, rave, cry and get it all out of your system and many of the links are so good at pointing us in the right direction. I hope you get some pain relief very soon and that your day is as comfortable as it can be.

Gentle Hugs

Trikki
