Hi Jans12
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering and struggling, and I sincerely hope that your pain eases soon and that you get a decent sleep. I was wondering if you have ever tried a TENS Machine for your pain? I have pasted for you below n excerpt and a link for the *NHS Arthritis Care cache on TENS Machines:
*What Is A TENS Machine:
TENS machines are small, lightweight, battery operated devices that fit into the palm
of your hand. They have rubber electrodes that attach to your skin, with leads
connected to the machine. The electrodes are either self-adhesive or attach to your
skin using water-based gel and adhesive tape. They are usually positioned either side
of the area of most intense pain. You will be able to control the strength (or
βvolumeβ) of the current that is passed through the electrodes, with a rotary knob or
dial. Some machines have larger controls that are easier to use if your hand
movements are limited.
*How can I try a TENS machine?
You can ask your doctor to refer you to a physiotherapist to try a TENS machine. If
TENS helps to relieve your pain, your physiotherapist is likely to give you between
20 minutes and a couple of hours with the machine. It may take a few sessions to get
used to. TENS can be used for one hour on, one hour off, throughout day.

Hi Ken, just read your comment about Tens machines and was surprised. I have had a lot of people tell me these work but I tried it on my side for rib pain that I always have and it made the pain so much worse. Does it help you then? Just wondering if I used it incorrectly or something. I must admit I haven't tried it anywhere else on my body, maybe it's just something about the ribs do you think?
Hope you aren't feeling too bad. Gentle hugs π
Jax
Hi Jax1977
I am so genuinely sorry to read that and you probably were using it correctly but they do not work for everyone unfortunately. If you have other issues with your ribs then it may have increased your pain levels? I can imagine that the pain of Costochondritis could be worse if you used the TENS there?
I have always found that it has helped with my my pain. I use mine on my neck and my back with some really good results. The only downside is that it wears off after a couple of hours.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken, you are such a lovely man to send me such a lovely message. Thank you. I've often wondered if I had costochondritis but was never told anything about this by a doctor. It's just through research that I stumbled across costochondritis. I think i will try the Tens machine on another area of my body to see if it helps. Thanks again for your kind message.
Wishing you the best of the best.
God bless
