Hi Matrix

I believe many of us will know this feeling.

Sorry to hear that it is just as difficult for you i get leg cramps when this happens

It is awful does reading help or do you have something you enjoy that relaxes you.

Maybe its the forum that helps hope you get some relief tonight and good nights sleep.

:):)

Thank you I don't have much sleep ever .I regularly have nights like this .I don't usually come on here mostly I try to keep off devices at night .I was just so fed up last night .x

Hope you got so excited sleep. I have tried keeping off my tablet at night now and listen to music instead or read. Oh for a good night's sleep but the sleep genie doesn't seem to visit me😟😴πŸ˜₯x

I have tried the same too but to no avail! I think the common sense ideas like you mentioned work for many but have little impact on those of us with fibro. The only thing that seems to help is acceptance and going with the flow.

Matrix profile image
Matrixβ€’ in reply toHartleyhare2

Patrick you are so right there ,it took me awhile to accept that I could never do certain things again and when I accepted that and celebrated what I could have it was a lot better for me .xx

Yes I agree with you. Unfortunately I am still at the struggling stage with some issues. I feel I should be more productive/doing/providing when I logically know it's not realistic. No ones asking me too it's just me being judgemental of myself. I read and follow politics a lot as well as films and computer games! I spend a lot of time online learning all sorts of odd things! I think a new hobby is needed! Time in the garden will be good as it grows warmer too. I've never been one for sitting still and old habits die hard! Hope you have a relaxing weekend and get some sleep! xx

Patrick ,there are days when I wonder what's the point .I am a very creative person so I have a shop in one of my spare rooms it's a double and just so you can guess how much stuff I have in that room .This week first time since before Christmas I have been able to find energy to craft and I'm loving it .I know how boring life is for many of us fibros many have had to stop working because of it ,we spend many hours on our own .Myself I'm thankful I was able to stop work as I went on to long .Summer is coming. Patrick then you can get in your garden .Have a wonderful weekend .Xx

I don't normally use mine at night but I was fed up wide awake and thought I would see if anyone was on.Hope you managed some sleep .x

Sorry to here no sleep again, hope you've caught a bit this morning. I've had a strange day and a half in bed asleep but not really asleep if that makes sense. Nomwater, Meds or loo trips but covered those bases this morning! Don't feel refreshed from all that downtime and hadn't overdone it before hand to warrant it. Fibro keeps getting odder when I think it can't anymore! xxx

i was up and down to the loo all night very unusual for me .I think I drifted off for an hour at 6.30. but was awake by 7.30 .?Im going to be so tired tomorrow ,it always affects me not the next day but day after .I would seriously love some sleep that wasn't two hours .Sorry for moaning .I think you should have a movie day today just rest up my friend and chill Patrick Fibro is a whole host of varying symptoms. all of them annoying and painful .Have a good weekend xx

Your not moaning atall! The amount of moaning I hear is from those without health conditions! You really don't appreciate the simple things, like the act of sleeping, until it's gone. I plan to have a lazy day today. I'm going to cook a curry for tonight but have adapted my cooking to doing it at stages during the day. Tea time is often when I'm tired so it makes life a lot easier😊 xxx

Sorry Matrix...that was me last night. I must have been in the bathroom 5 times last night. Ugh....just thought ai could share something that helps me. You dont have to take this info, but I too have trouble dozing off and sleeping.

I got an oil infuser that mists into the air. I put a sleep oil in it. Not sure which oils they are, but you can buy online. It helps me to doze off and stay asleep (except for those bathroom runs).

I also put lavender oil on my feet. Lavender is calming, and they say we have our biggest body absorption through our feet.

Just an idea. I also found a sleepy tea that helps a lot.

So sorry. It is awful when one cannot sleep. I had the other night. 4 hrs, and I was wide awake. Never completely dozed off.

Feel better.

Thank you so much Natura that's so kind of you .I can't use lavender as I'm really allergic to it ,I could try the tea could you pm with the name .Thanks sweetie x

Thanks Patrick ,I do agree some people think getting six hours is no sleep .Im not the sort of person who moans much ,it's bad enough living our life I don't want to keep reliving it .So it's nice to tell peeps on here because you know what I'm going through they don't realise it's day in day out night in night out .Thats the best way to do any task pace yourself .

Hope your feeling better I know you have been struggling .Have a great Sunday and take it easy .Hope you enjoyed your curry we had that in the week ,we decided we are not having roasts on Sunday for a few weeks .Xx

I was like this, but having had Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (For Chronic Pain), I have basically had to change everything I was doing sleepwise, and was told to get into a sleep routine: don't sleep during the day, regardless how tired you are; don't sleep on the sofa at all; an hour before your new routine bedtime (mine is 10.30pm) stop watching tv, using your phone/tablet etc - and allow your mind to relax; change your clothes to pyjamas; go to bed. If after 20 mins you're not asleep, get up, go into the lounge and when you start to feel tired go back to bed. In the morning, get up early (7.30am for me) and keep to this routine. After 3 months, I now sleep like a baby 5 out of 7 nights, and I feel much better (pain wise) than I have done since being diagnosed! Obviously, if you can get your GP to request you get on a CBT course or a Pain Management course then I'd highly recommend it!

I do keep good sleep hygiene but my problem is since I was a child it's deep seated and I have tried most things they tell you too . But thanks for helping I may try again and do what you said . X

Not sleeping makes for a long night does't it? At least now with the lighter mornings coming we can get up and potter about without feeling we should be asleep.

Hope you have a better night tonight.
