Thunder1, I do have some pain but have a lot of swelling.Hope your pain eases.Have a good evening . Peck.π€
Yes I do sometimes very tender and other times shooting pains I have always out mine down to a combination of fibro and osteo. Do hope that yours clear up soon as it makes safely gripping anything a problem.x
I have a lot of pain with my fingers, particularly in my left hand. I bought some anti-arthritis gloves which have made a huge difference - wearing them right now actually lol. I was a bit sceptical but can now thoroughly recommend them. I can send you a link for them if you like?
Awww bless yes please xx
Hi miscy, Can you tell me where you got them from? I did try a thumb splint,on my left hand but it was too painful, and my doctor didnt approve, said it could make the thumb permantly stiff if I wore it too much.Thanks. Lyzzie.
Hi Miscy would you please show me the link for the gloves ....my hands are terrible at the moment
Link sent dottydettie - hope they help.
Thank you so much Miscy I've ordered a pair hopefully they will help....used to do a lot of crossstitch but cannot manage it now....still managing my crochet tho in short bursts x
yes, i do suffer with my fingers, hands and wrists.
It sounds like it is common in fibro from the other replies, but perhaps also go to doctor to get it checked to rule out other things? Even If it is the fibro you will probably be able to get something to help it from the doctor. I have ibuprofen gel and naproxen for inflammation, they work well. Hope you find some relief soon. X
Hi Thunder1
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I have to agree with the others as I also have Fibro and arthritis and it could be either? I would talk to your doctor about this just to get a definite diagnosis. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
My hands, wrists and fingers are ALWAYS so painful. My fingers especially are so swollen and bent. I have great difficulty using them. I do enjoy crafting of most types and I get so annoyed when I can't do things. That makes me so depressed - I just love to create but I do have to keep on going - and suffer the pain and the tears. I do find putting them in cold water then hot and alternating for a while. It helps a little but my hands just don't work so well these days.
Hi magmap, I used to do a lot of crafts too, especially Irish Crochet, I can not longer hold either the needle, nor the thread so had to give it up, same with Patchworking and stuff, cross stitch in fact I gave away a lot of my crafting stuff because I hated looking at it, luckily I have written stories since I was about 11 years old, and now with my laptop I can write to my hearts content again!, its only a hobby and I dont finish many of them as I literally lose the plot, I often have the heroine clinging onto the ivy as she tries to rob the love interest, with the bad guy trying to cut the rope, and paint myself into a corner!!! but its fun!, why dont you have a go, PS I wont let anyone read them, to self-conscious for that. Lyzzie
My hands and wrists are always extremely painful to the point I have to use a wrist support as it feels like my wrist will snap I had to use it every day for 3 months and now I use it when needed but like you my fingers are really bad in the mornings.
Yes sometimes I do get really sore and stiff fingers. My physio recommended that I soak my hands in warm water with Epsom salts and I find this really helps. It's probably best to get it checked with your doctor/ rheumatologist.
I also get slot of pain ,fingers cramp a lot as well painful wrists as well plus the shooting pains from my thumb down to my wrists my doctor reckons it's arthritis I also enjoy doing card craft but after about 10 mins I have to stop because of the painful cramps and wrists clicking sounds like there going to snap off
