Lidocaine 5% patches: Hi I've just... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Lidocaine 5% patches
I have had themfor about 5 years now. I find they help dampen down the burning, neuropathic pain ,I get in my back. The patch of pain is so large that I have to use the Max. 3. My Gp only gives a few at a time as I believe they are extremely expensive so I Jeep them for ty hose desperate days. Good luck with them hope they work.x
I haven't found them to be very helpful for lower back pain. But I certainly I hope they help you.
Hi joed
I have never tried them myself so I do not know anything about them. However, I have pasted you a link from the US National Library Of Medicine cache on these.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with these my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you

I have been trialling these for the last few weeks...here are few of the frustrating but funny experiences I have had so far.
As with all treatment methods, trialling these patches has been no easy task. Firstly, I was told at pain clinic to put these on the areas that hurt, shown examples of the plasters, how to apply them as well as maximum dose. At this point I was dumbfounded as to how even three of these cut or otherwise was ever gonna cover me head to toe, the area that hurts! Having decided I had no other option but to pick an area to try first, I concentrated on between my shoulder blades and lower back as my massage therapist had identified trigger/tender points (can never remember which she uses lol) in these areas and with no other guidance it was as good as any. All the time, thinking there is gonna have to be some magic involved here if three a6 sticky plasters are gonna take away my pain and that's before thinking about how I might become a contortionist to get them in place! As days went on, I would try the patches in slightly different places, some effective others not. After weeks of sticking with it (and finding patches stuck to clothes, down the toilet or simply becoming unstuck) I am now trialling using these at night to see if they stay on better without my movements during the day working against them. It is still early days but these do seem to take the edge off some of my pain.
I hope some of this is useful and that ultimately the patches work for you. Take care x
