Hello,

I have been offered this treatment but I haven't yet accepted it. I am concerned about any affect it might have on other conditions, mainly lipoedema/lymphoedema but I'm interested to hear from others how well it has worked for them and if there were any side effects.

Just had one infusion many years ago when fibro pain got out of control, done in A&E with a Paracetamol infusion, it did work on controlling the onset of bad pain but i was warned to upkeep my usual pain relief after.. second time just infused with paracetamol alone.. Only done htis twice in 17.5 years.

This sounds an “interesting” treatment, does this offer come after you have climbed the drug ladder & tablet wise nothing else works? IV stuff works far quickly than XR and normal release medications no immediate relief

Hello nice to meet you :) sorry but I think only your doctor would be able to answer your question's on how it may effect your other health issues has we are not qualified to do so.

I my self have never had any kind of infusion so i am unable to offer any help on side effects. But has we all suffer side effects with medications in different ways i'm guessing there would be no way to to know how side effects effect others . They only way to know how if you get side effects is to try it unfortunately . I wish you luck and hope all go's well and you get some benefit from it xx

Hiya

I had it done and was a waste of time and not forgetting this drug has not been tested and you should Google it before having it done.

Please take care.

A friend with fibro recently had this done at hospital and is happy with how it worked on her pain. Prior to this she’d also had some lidocaine injections done privately a few years ago.

Hi there I just read your post and you mentioned your friend having had lidocaine injections done privately..I have a friend desperate to get these done as she has pudendal nerve damage from an op that has left her suicidal. The doctor who gave her the one and only injection she has had done has told her she has to wait for four months? She is desperate..Any information would be greatly appreciated please.

Hi, my friend had her infusion done recently at the pain clinic at Charing Cross Hospital. For a private injection or infusion you could try Dr. Chris Jenner who is the head pain consultant there. She also suggested Dr. Stephanie Barrett who is a rheumatologist. Edited by Admin Please PM member for any other information

I had them every two weeks 4 times. Waste of time and my blloof pressure was monitored constantly when I had it as it can cause problems with that well that's what the pain clinic consultant said.

I do know that the injections she had done privately were done by Prof. John Davies, who worked at Guys who died a few years ago. She also had an infusion (not an injection)recently on the NHS, somewhere in town. I can ask her where and if she knows if there are any people doing injections privately. I was offered a lidocaine infusion at the Neurological Hospital in Queens Square which I didn’t take up as I needed to have someone pick me up and escort me home from there. Is your friend registered at a pain clinic? The pain clinic at Charing Cross Hospital offer lidocaine infusions, and you could contact the consultants there for private treatment no doubt.

Infusion may be Myers Cocktail maybe? :)

I don’t know what that is

I just read again and you said an infusion on the NHS - Myers Cocktail is usually done privately. It has limited research but some people with Fibromyalgia has said it has helped alongside other therapies/meds, in particular the founder of the former charity FibroAction who merged with FMAUK to make Fibromyalgia Action UK, LindseyMid . Here's a link that explains this infusion

Yes she is registered at a pain clinic..She had one lidocaine infusion and reported that is gave her relief from pain for 3 days..Her next appointment for another infusion is not until April..She can,t understand why she can,t be treated sooner? What is the delay..If anyone knows where you can have the infusion privately that would be a help..thanks.
