Hello All , Please could someone help !! I've to undergo my 1ST Lidocaine Infusion in October. I've been trying to find out information , about the process etc. There seems to be a lack of information out there, or have I not looked in the right places. Is there a web site or information internet link that I could use. Thank you Robert N1

Hi there,
Just wanted to say, although I haven't had experience of this, there are certainly others who have had success with it, and I hope they come by to give you the support and information you would like.
Sending lots of positive vibes 😀

New one on me I'm afraid. Which part of you is being anaesthetised? I will watch your answers with interest. Please let us know if you get relief from it 🐸
Hi what kind of infusion are you having. About 10 years ago I used to have Lidnocaine infusions that involved a weeks stay in hospital 6 drips over 6 days that would last for about 7 hours each day the amount of Lidnocaine was upped & solution lowered.
I have also had one off infusion for particular area which was about 2 hours on drip.
Please lmk what you are going to have so I can give you info from my experiences

Hi we're not supposed to put links on here, but I've found a lot on Google, if it is ok with you I could pm them to you to have a look through

I have not undertaken anything of this nature but I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck with your infusion.
All my hopes and dreams for you

I too am just about to see the pain clinic and will be asking for this very same medication. I know nothing of it, but if you goggle it, there's a fair bit on the subject.
Each person is different.
Good luck with it, hope you find it works. At the end of the day you can always ask your GP to explain.
Kind wishes
Lottie
Hi, I have had lidocaine infusions through the pain clinic at my local hospital. I too tried to read up on it but in the end it was nothing like the info I had read. Went in to a waiting room, had usual checks done by a nurse, blood pressure , temp etc. then went onto a ward with other people having various infusions. the doctor hooks you up to a drip with the lidocaine solution in it. Depending on how you react to it cos it can make you feel a bit spaced out to start with , the infusion took 2 hours. Felt a bit spaced out for a while afterwards but others who were having it were fine all the way through. The nurse checked blood pressure and temperature every so often while having the infusion. The results of pain reduction are different for different people but it does give you the opportunity to speak to others who have Fibro, which I have found useful.
Hope all goes well on your first infusion and that you get some respite from the pain.

Right I'll find it out & send it across. Do you know if your having several days of 7 hour infusions or 1 infusion over a short time span ? I can give you my opinion on them then as I've had both kinds Karen
