I was put on a morphine patch, you leave it on for a week for fibo pain, I was doing great then someone left a foot matt at the entrance to my work and as I had a stroke this year it has left me with right sided weakness leg and arm. As you can imagine my foot caught on the matt and down I went , I cut my knee and had lots of bruising in my arm however I though that was it , was I wrong went home that night and the pain in my back got intense that I went to hospital, anyway I have a slipped disk and they believe the fall made it worse as a result they increased the patched to 10mg hence the reason for the post since then I have been constant sick with anything I eat and and when I'm not eating I feel sick ....has anyone else been on these ? Looking for some advice please

I’ve not been on Morphine Patches before but have been given Morphine Injections at various times in my life, and I’ve always had to have an anti-sickness medication with it as Nausea & Vomiting is a well known side-effect of Morphine.
Get in touch with your Dr., or speak to a Pharmacist and tell them what is happening.
I hope you get it sorted, and you feel better soon.
Morphine gives me migraines so I have to have a preventative when I am dosed. But yes, I understand that nausea is a common side effect. My understanding is that eating dry crackers or plain mashed potato does help some people.
Sending my best wishes too you, can you speak too your doctor about the sickness and check if there’s an anti sickness tablet you can take along side this xx
Was given anti sickness meds and omeprozole which have helped a lot ask for them from your gp.
I still getting no pain relief with the patches which I take in conjunction with naproxen and lefludemide( for psoriatic arthritis) and have now been told their is nothing more my gp can do for my pain so I solely rely on my rheumatologist.
Hope this is different for you as we are all different in how we react to everything but definitely try anti sickness meds
hi speak to your Gp you may be adversely reacting to the treatment I can’t take certain types of morphine eg : tablets whilst in hospital in a lot of pain I was given morphine tablets when I was much younger and was constantly sick they almost killed me I could barely talk as soon as the doctors found out it was the tablets I was taken of them and the nurse was given a talking to for not telling the doctors it was the tablet. When I broke my ankle I was given morphine intravenously but very small amount which nocked me out the doctors told me I was very sensitive to the drug and a larger amount could have killed me. Therefore be careful as the dose may be too strong for you please speak to your doctor and tell them your symptoms to the drug.
Hi bonny1234, I'm so sorry to hear bout your fall on top ov everything else your going through, but morphine patches are stopping your appetite sweetheart I was the same and then I started feeling low, then I kept gasping for my breath through the night, I was on them for year and half, I don't think it helped my pain in the end , so I went cold turkey stop straight away , my god I went through alot withdrawals it wasn't good, but now what IV done 2 years on is got liquid morphine and when I'm in agony I take 10 ml it does take that agonising pain away then I will have l and half ml in morning before I start the day at least that way your in control of your morphine and it's not in system constantly, ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thankyou so much for your reply , I can relate to the breathing part I feel I can't get a breath at times. I will make a gp appointment and ask about liquid thanks xx
Hi bonny1234 when you go doctors make sure you say you think the liquid morphine would suit you best because your in control of what your having and when don't let them tell you what they think you should have , it's your body your pain ❤️❤️
Hi, you didn't say what dose you were on, only what it was increased to, they will have that effect until your body gets used to them, ask for a slightly lower dose then increase gradually, I understand the pain, I take paracetamols as well, I find for me, combining them works so much better..I was sick to start with, but I take liquid so much easier to monitor my own dose. I did try the patch and slow release tablet, it's time consuming, probably altogether it took me 2 years to find a happy medium that works for me. Patience and perseverance I'm afraid. Hopefully as well, because you have had a fall causing this extra pain, in time you may heal with rest and exercise/physiotherapy. Feel better soon.
I'm on them and they have no effect on me really, but liquid morphine makes me vomit, hence now on patches. Maybe after a couple of weeks it'll settle.
