Hi plainchocolate
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are experiencing this, and I would make an appointment to discuss this with your GP just to rule out any other medical condition? And to ascertain if there is anything else that they can prescribe for you? Please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hi, plain chocolate,
Could you speak to your doctor about trying an alternative medicine to amitryptiline?
As regards your dry mouth, have the doctors considered a condition called Sjogren s syndrome, which affects the salivary glands causing reduction in saliva production. An autoimmune disease.
I believe it is possible to buy "artificial saliva" from your pharmacy, which can alleviate dry mouth and throat.
Hope this helps xxxx
Hiya PC,
You can get "dry mouth spray" from most chemist dhopscan from some supermarkets...maybe worth a try!?
For heartburn ask doctor to give you "Peptac Liquid" try it before bed as the heartburn usually kicks in when lying down an hinders the possibility of any sleep...know the feeling only too well...
Hope this helps...
God bless you
Hugh
Hi PC, I'm on amytriptiline and dry mouth is severe, it was so bad that my tongue was aching and I couldn't eat or drink certain things, my dentist told me to speak to Dr which I did and Dr gave me diff medicine which weren't helping me ( mood wise) but my tongue healed up great. I had to go back on amytriptiline and tongue is really sore again, I've been on them for years and this has all started about 6/9 month ago. I think it will be another trip to Dr to get medication sorted, I have spray and tablets from dr for dry mouth but only work short term. I hope this helps a little. Xx
