Result of thyroid test

I have received the results and my levothyroxine has been increased for the second time within a few months. I'm hoping that this higher dosage will increase my energy levels but it's difficult to know for sure as my fibromyalgia makes me physically tired. Does anyone know what the tests are for MS and chronic fatigue syndrome?

Hello Mandy

As far as I am aware I do not think that there is a specific test for Chronic Fatigue. I have it myself and have never had specific tests for it.

However, I am more than happy for anyone to correct me on that.

As for MS, are you referring to Multiple Sclerosis?

Wishing you wellness and peace

You're very welcome. MS, from what I have seen over the years here, doesn't tend to come hand in hand with Fibromyalgia although there are of course people who do have both.

My GP told me about 3 years ago that I have a propensity towards having MS in the future.

I do know of someone who will be better able to discuss this with you, so I'll ask them to message you later if that's ok?

Hi Mandy_lw

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you have needed to have your Levothyroxine increased again, and I sincerely hope that this higher dosage works well for you.

My dear wife has Primary Progressive MS, and the only way to diagnose it is for an MRI of the brain to look for lesions of the Myelin layer on the outer brain surface. Myelin is a fatty white substance that surrounds the axon of some nerve cells, forming an electrically insulating layer. It is essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system.

Once an MRI shows lesions, it is sometimes requested that a spinal drip be taken to check for MS on the stem of the neck / spine. From this a diagnosis can be made whether the MS is Primary Progressive, Secondary Progressive or Relapsing Remitting. I genuinely hope that this helps answer your question?

I have pasted you a link to the NHS Choices cache on this condition:

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
