Gabapentin headaches

Been takung gabapentin only 2 300mg day for 2wks headaches that last all day and feeling sick all the time just threw them in the bin !

Going to ask dr for something else cant function let alone do 3 days in work

Anyone else has the same?

I needed six months before tolerating a 600mg a day dose rate starting with 100mg when nothing really good happened but that was better than quite a bad reaction when using Pregabalin.

Finding the least worst option that can be tolerated starting with small doses is one method of limiting side effect severity.

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you have suffered such horrid side effects from your Gabapentin. I was prescribed Pregabalin as a Migraine suppressant, I am not saying that they work well for me but they have not given me any extra headaches. Maybe worth asking your doctor about these? They are the next line up from Gabapentin.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck with finding a suitable replacement medication.

I had a similar reaction to Pregabalin - I only took one 25mg tablet and I ended up with a severe vice like headache and ended up vomiting for 2hrs and feeling like I was gonna die!

Gabapentin made me extremely irritable and cause inorgasmia? For a couple of weeks - I threw both of these meds in the bin.

Have you tried homeopathic remedies or meditation techniques? I'm not saying these work for everyone, but they can help some people xx

300mg twice a day seems a lot to start on. I started on 100 mg 3 times a day for a couple of weeks then progressed to 200mg at night for a few day's then 200mg three times a day until i asked to have them put up. I couldn't do without them now although it did take a while for them to make a difference good luck with your new medication when you get some 😀👍
