I don't personally know about that - I take vitamin D supplements and find they help. A friend who I'm sure has undiagnosed fibro swears by her magnesium tablets - she says they give her an added boost. I don't see what harm they can do if you try them. Let us know how you get on and I hope you feel better soon. x

Magnesium can help. It is best absorbed through the skin. I use Epsom salts in the bath. Add some lavendar oil or bubble bath and soak for at least 15 minutes. X

Yes along with vitamins D and B-12. Also calcium.! I was told our bodies don't process them correctly. You might try, but my advice would be talk to your doctor and have blood test done to see if they are low. To be on safe side ask doctor if any of them will hurt you mixed with medicine you are taking. I never start asking a thing without first checking with my doctor. Because some things don't mix with medicine I take.

Yes, magnesium, especially magnesium malate, is one of the most frequently recommended supplements for fibro. I've taken it for years, See this article: prohealth.com/library/showa...

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi, thought you migh find this interesting, I use it regularly.

Magnesium/Epsom salts

Nutrients applied to the skin are efficiently absorbed into the bloodstream. That is why we shouldn’t put anything on our skin that we don’t want coursing through our blood. And that is also why this homemade magnesium oil works so well: it’s a supplement we take through the skin.

What is magnesium oil?

Actually, it’s not an oil. It feels slippery like oil, but it is a solution of magnesium chloride flakes in water making it yourself provides a WAY more economical option. It provides the benefits of magnesium supplementation in an absorbable form.

These are just some of the vital roles magnesium plays in the body:

Necessary cofactor for more than 300 enzyme reactions in your body

Needed for the relaxation of muscles so it is a key treatment for muscle cramps

Required for stable blood sugar and insulin sensitivity. Consumption of refined sugars deplete magnesium.

Vital for cardiovascular health

Key for balancing hormones for both men and women because it supports balanced minerals in the body

Needed in increased quantities during periods of increased emotional or physical stress, since stress burns through magnesium stores

Essential for mood regulation, particularly reducing anxiety and promoting a sense of wellbeing

How can you benefit by using magnesium oil? These are a few of the ways magnesium oil therapy works to improve symptoms by reducing the magnesium deficiency in your body:

Supports overall health and a suitable supplement for most individuals

Reduces (and should eventually stop) muscle cramping, including menstrual cramps

Improves sleep, because magnesium is a “calming” and “soothing” mineral

Very helpful in reducing symptoms of PMS including bloating, mood swings and breast tenderness

Widely helpful for headaches and even migraines.

Many individuals have reported profound improvement in migraines when they use magnesium oil regularly.

A key part of any hormone-balancing protocol, because magnesium helps balance the other minerals and hormones in the body

As an anti-stress agent in the body, it often promotes a sense of peace and wellbeing. It is very helpful in depression and anxiety.

Magnesium Oil Recipe

Additionally, the body will only take what it needs through the skin. Whereas taking some supplements orally can cause an over-abundance in the body, this is not usually the case for transdermal therapy.Magnesium Oil Recipe

1/2 cup filtered water

1/2 cup magnesium chloride flakes

Spray bottle (I used a glass one)

Bring the water to a boil in a non-aluminum saucepan. Turn off the heat and stir in the magnesium flakes until dissolved. When cool, pour into your spray bottle. No refrigeration is necessary.

Spray it on to the body (details below) and lightly rub it in. It may still feel a bit greasy or moist on the skin. For me, it is fully absorbed without a residue within a few minutes. Use anywhere from 10-30 sprays per day.

Question you were saying anything we put on our skin gets absorbed in our bodies well I just got a lot of bath and body works and have been using the body cream and lotion and the more I put on the dryer my skin feels and I have been in more pain could it be the bath and body works or just the weather changes?

Hi, I know the weather can play a big part in some peoples life's regards aches and pains.

As regards your skin its the biggest organ of your body whatever goes on your skin can go straight into your bloodstream hence all the different patches you can get from your doctor for example HRT or Pain patches, I don't profess to be an expert, anything I say is what I've gleaned over the years.

As for your body products I'm sorry I can't really comment on them.

I can warn you about a product called Sodium laureth sulphate (it goes under many other names)

natural-health-information-...

Because I found it was put in lots of skin lotions, creams, shampoo's, toothpastes, etc, I stopped using them, I became a bit of a kitchen alchemist I decided to make my own creams, moisturisers and lotions with things that are natural, if I know what's in it and how it's made I can put it on my body safely. They are really easy to make and work out a lot cheaper and last longer than any shop bought ones. Why not have a go at making one yourself, there are lots of links on YouTube using lots of different ingredients :0)

I hope this helps, forewarned is forearmed...
