All over trapped nerves

Hi

Just been to clinic and been told I have

Trapped nerves in my feet, wrist, elbows, spine and neck

As this explains wide spread pain could it also have given cause to a wrong diagnosis of FIBRO

Hi there

I'm not a doctor, but it is possible. I guess it would depend upon what other symptoms you have in addition to widespread pain.

If you 'just' have pain, then possibly yes (just in my opinion).

Fibromyalgia is a syndrome which means that it is made up of a number of differing symptoms which make up Fibro. Unfortunately we all have different symptoms which makes diagnosing the condition extremely hard.

Just my thoughts for what they're worth!

Been referred back to hospital as it is getting worse having nerve induction done again but consultant has said again no guarantee of improvement

Could I ask how long you have been diagnosed with fibro? Also when did the trapped nerves start giving you pain ? If they started at about the same time, then I would agree with Lu, it may be that trapped nerves are your main problem. However, one can easily have fibro and also have trapped nerves too, I have experienced this many times and I've had fibro for over 30 years.

I really would urge you to seek some advice from a medic who knows and understands both conditions, that way you are more likely to come away with the right diagnosis.

Sending you lots of positive and soothing vibes 😊

Hi dillm2

I think it is a chicken and egg scenario here? Which do you think came first? The Fibro diagnosis or any possible trapped nerves. It very could be that you have been given a wrong diagnosis of Fibro or it could be that you have actually got both medical conditions? I would definitely discuss the possibilities with your GP or Medical Specialist. I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Have you found out yet about the nerves and fibro, did they explain why so many trapped nerves? Im asking because after being diagnosed with fibro it was then realised i had trapped nerve in right foot and also my left leg,i dont doubt i have fibro because nerve and muscle pain are different but i do wonder if i have fibro due to being in over twenty years of pain.
