I think it may well be.  This condition is not well understood, and some Drs who believe it's down to psychological.  It is true many of us suffer with depression, pain and fatigue and sometimes a whole host of terribly debilitating symptoms who wouldn't be?  We aren't all the same, some manage to live fairly normally much of the time, but suddenly out of the blue get awful flare ups, especially during times of extra stress.  Perhaps this is what is happening to you?  Carpal Tunnel is another condition many with FM have, (you will need a Nerve Conduction Study to confirm or discount) myself included, as well as Rheumatoid Arthritis, which again could be something you have too!  Sleep problems, too little or too much, and perhaps non-restful sleep can leave you feeling exhausted.  From my point of view I think you might need to try to see if they can find some effective pain relief, and perhaps a referral to Rheumatologist, who could confirm or discount FM and other conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis.  It can take a while to work it all out, even though you have recognised symptoms of FM yourself.

Please do keep us posted, and feel free to ask for advice, let of steam, whatever your need is.  It always helps to talk to people who really can understand!  Welcome to the Forum.  Tulip  :)  xx

Hi Marie1980x

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

fmauk.org/

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering and struggling in this way, and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your Fibro issues. It may prove beneficial to discuss how you are feeling with your GP or Medical Specialist to ascertain if there is some different medication that they can try you on?

If you have not already, it may also prove useful to ask for a referral to a pain management clinic as they may have some new ideas for you to try? I use a TENS Machine when my pain becomes too much, and I find this does help me somewhat. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi, I've also been suffering a really bad flare up for the last few weeks. Just i the last 24 hours it has started to calm down. I wondered during these weeks if it was ever going to ease and also was losing the will. Please just take the time and don't try to push yourself it will settle a little at a time. Anna

The other possibility is polymyagia, I have both and don't really know which is which causing some symptoms.

The reason I mention this is because of the morning stiffness
