Working in a kitchen is hard work!! I know I did for some years! So did foggy I believe 🤔🙄 what do you do. Line, or prep or... It really doesn't matter it's all hard! I have had fibro most if not all my life. I hope you are able to find meds that work for you! Oh welcome to the site! Make sure to check out mother site because they have some great information there. Oh yes they also have a information packet they can send to your doctor. I am sure one of the administration will be on and give you all kinds of information! I love the site. Oh yea I am from Texas USA so I am a little strange and I know it. So welcome and feel free to pm me if you want to. Humm what else yea it's a little foggy for me today so hugs

Hi, welcome to the group, some family and friends won't understand and or just over look what you are telling them-so don't get discouraged . I have been telling my friends and family for months how I feel and what's going on an they still don't get it! Just hang in there!! Hugs from Alabama USA

Hello and welcome, we are a very supportive group. Just remember for your own sanity that this condition is very real, you have been diagnosed by a medical expert, I mention this because people will go on Dr Google and come at you with all sorts of snake oil cures and tales of it not being real, it is and sadly we all have it. Do keep looking in on us. Hope that all made sense. Lou xx

Hello Jaine, I hope having a diagnosis will help-although I've always said labels are for jars not people-in terms of having a diagnosis it really does help.

The pain management consultant said he would need to put three different labels on me, so he has put none-well 'generalised pain' which does not satisfy anyone, including the DWP.

As for family, friends loved ones understanding-I'd say keep your own expectations low and keep in mind how good you felt when the consultant/Dr finally understood-that way you have a great memory to draw on when family etc manage to 'accidentally' upset you.

Go you-good luck with work-hope they listen.

Kind regards Pea 🌻

Hi Jaine, It also took me about that long to get a diagnosis! Looking back, I think my rheumatologist was one of those that don't believe in fibro, but just never admitted it. I finally went to another Dr and was diagnosed on the first visit! Even though I was pretty sure, it was a wonderful validation to get the diagnosis! It also freed me from wondering what the h*eck was wrong with me, and gave me an area to look for treatments and such. So congratulations on your diagnosis, even though I'm sorry you have fibro, it's good to actually know.

Hugs,

Melody
