hi everyone went to the doctors saw the last doctor at my new surgery i thought great see what he says about fibro and guess what he said the same as the others well its not really reconised and people dont know enough about it if all these doctors and rhuematologists say the same thing then why dont they do something about it.i had to ask to see a rhuematologist this year it was the second time i saw him i asked because my right knee was massive and giving me a lot of pain when i saw him he said hypermobility wasnt helping with having fibro aswell so it was theres some tablets and i dont have to see him again shocking we suffer the same pain as someone with rhuematoid arthritus and they see theres all the time so why havent we got a fibro oligst. x
doctors: hi everyone went to the... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
doctors
I'm sorry you have had this experience, I would just like to assure you that Fibromyalgia is very real and is indeed a recognised condition. You will find lots of support here. Many of us have other conditions alongside fibro all of which need to be addressed, it is exhausting but do keep pushing for proper care. xx

I hope you are successful, I feel certain they hope everyone will just give up, let us know how you get on xx

Hi ask for a pain and fatigue clinic , I don't know what health authority you live in but I think it's disgraceful.
Chris

You gp or rheumatologist can refer you , I have been told to self refer this time as I need a refresher. Just back from hospital just tired now ,

hi shadows-walker been to doctors today the best one has retired saw this new one after i waited half an hour went in to talk to him he said they had a pain clinic but try physio first then said he was running late how cheeky is that x
Mine today told me from now on book a double appointment.i think my practice should have an award on how well they treat there patients, they are brill , they had one locom in and I told how she was listen to patients outside ad gigging at what she could here and tried to get me to join in I was applauded they haven't had her back and won't
I am lucky 😊
I think yours need to redo there gp training.
hi shadow-walker i think they need to or i need a change but you dont know if they are going to be any different. x
I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that you can find a GP or Medical Specialist that takes more of an interest in you. It is irrelevant whether or not your medical professional knows about Fibro or not or whether they believe it is real or not, as they have a duty of care to their patients. I want to gneuinely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken

Hmmmmm, great idea !!!
Hi Dawn, I suggest that you should make your new "doctor" better informed.
If you go onto fmauk.org. and towards the bottom of the home page there is a section which says you can get an information pack (medical pack) sent anonymously to your doctor.
Hope this will make him more understanding, take care xx
I feel for u your right some doctors don't understand it so dismiss it. It's real pain why don't they listen x
i know dan just feels like youre hitting a brick wall once again.
