I dont think Either of these drugs are licensed in the UK so I believe you would have trouble getting them prescribed. From what I have just read on the UKFibromyalgia site Cymbalta available in the UK is similar to Savella.
I'm not sure to be honest, I've just had a quick Google and it seems very much like pregabalin, quite mixed reviews it works for some people and not for others. Hope you can find something that works for you
I am so soryr to read that you also have Fibro and I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck. If these medications are not licensed in the UK then it will be a private prescription I am afraid.
Your GP or any other private GP can issue you with a private prescription. There is usually a fee for the cost of the GP issuing the prescription and a secondary cost for the dispensing of the prescription from the pharmacy. The medications that you are interested in will be available on a private prescription if the GP will issue it for you.
I have pasted you an excerpt from the Boots Online information regarding prescriptions so I hope that you find it useful:
*What is a Private prescription?
A private prescription is issued by a private doctor or by your GP for a medicine that is not available on the NHS. The charge for dispensing a private prescription includes the cost of the medicine and can vary. If you have a private prescription you will always be required to pay; there is no exemption.

Hi again, yes that is okay. I have pasted you an excerpt from ''Your Europe'' which explains how it works:
*A prescription delivered by a doctor in your country is valid in all EU countries. However, medicine prescribed in one country might not be available in another, or it may bear another name.
As of 25 October 2013 you are able to ask for a cross-border prescription which is intended for use in another EU country: these are designed to help the pharmacist understand the prescription easily, the ingredients of the medicine and their dosage.
Thank you so much for this useful information. I asked my G.P. for this prescription to take to France she adamantly said " No". She explained it could only be done through a private doctor - private prescription..?
Uhmmn.. apparently they have different rulings or legislation.?
I'm not sure.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for your help to date.
Hi, duloxetine is Cymbalta. Please note that it doesn't make you put on weight, Imhave bee using it for a few years. BUT, because of previous experience with it, I went onto it VERY SLOWLY, insisted on it with my GP, who agreed. iT took me about
3-4 Months, starting on 10mg, until I got used to it, then up to 20mg and increased by 10mg each time. tHis way you won't get the side effects in one whole dose. iF you start with 60mg which is the recommended dose, you feel like hell, for a month. This worked for me when I did it this way. I found it very helpful. gOod luck.
