Hi there

As you have only recently been diagnosed you have quite a long journey ahead of you in which to try to come to terms with our condition and how best to manage it.

Sadly because Fibro is tailor made to each individual person there is no one answer to what will work for you.

Some choose medication, others choose to change their lifestyle, some both.

It can take quite some time to find the right set of medication that will work for you. If you can manage to get some exercise (even a short walk) that is very beneficial.

I don't want to paint too dark a picture, but just to gently explain that this is not an easy illness to get the grasp of.

Being in pain can cause you to feel low and then begins the pain, depression, anxiety, pain circle.

If you really do want to come off your meds, make sure you do it very gradually with the advice of your GP. It can be very dangerous to just stop taking medication over night.

I do hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Gentle hugs

Lu xx

Hiya

I was first diagnosed 30 years ago! I also have Chronic Fatigue, anxiety and depression.

I managed to work for 34 years (I am now 54) but due to a trauma and pneumonia I was forced to resign from work due to ill health.

I live in hope that I will be able to return to work, but with the level of pain I have at the moment I can't see that happening for a while.

My pain meds only take the edge off my pain. Every day is a real struggle, but being a single parent means having to carry on as best I can.

xx

Hi there

I'm so sorry. I've only just seen your message.

Thank you for asking after me. I'm doing ok thanks. I love the weekends when my children are at home. Not that I see much of them as they are usually in their rooms :)

Having said that, my daughter cut the grass for me today bless her.

How are you doing today?

xx

Aw. Thank you :) That means so much.

I haven't told you half of what has gone on in my life, but we would be here for years if I did!

I'm a single parent too. At one point I had 3 jobs to make ends meet.

It seems to me that a lot of people with Fibro have had a lot of other things going on in their lives too.

As far as my GP is concerned Chronic Fatigue and ME are the same thing. I have it and am not in bed all the time. I refuse to stay in bed however bad my pain or fatigue is. I spend my whole day tired and in pain but just push and push myself until I can fall into bed around 8pm.

There are varying degrees of Chronic Fatigue. Some days or worse than others and everyone suffers differently. My fatigue is much worse in the winter because I hold myself stiff when I am cold (which is all the time!) which then makes me more tired xx

Yes! I had put on so much weight I knew it was the pregabalin. Always being used to a size 10 when I found myself uncomfortable in a size 14 I decided to taper off. I was already having increasing pains in my legs ankles and hips but didn't believe meds worked. I had only managed about a week and went to the doc who has increased the dose threefold! Pain or gain!

I hate the thought of gaining weight only been on those a week so haven't noticed yet feel for you taking tablets is horrible but if it helps with the pain I suppose we have no choice
