the hound's anything like mine he would remove and eat. He liked the most revolting things. On a walk one day he was diving into something but then his head would pop up and he'd lick his lips sheepishly. Determined to eat whatever it was he continued. Turned out the rabbit was full of maggots and he didn't like the feel of them in his mouth. Didn't occur to him to stop.
