Is it worth going to the GP?

Hi all,

I have an appointment with rhumy-physiotherapist this week but I'm not sure if I should see FL also. I have a worsening symptom. My right arm gets numb/sore and pins and needles. My arm is very stiff, I have trouble getting my hand in and out my pocket ( insert joke about me being Scottish here πŸ˜ƒ) and getting a jacket on. I've had carpel tunnel about 11 yrs ago when pregnant but it was just my fingers. My husband thinks it is that ( he recenlky had surgery for carpel tunnel, he's a chef and it was affecting his work) I'm not copying him, honest!

So, I'm not sure whether GP needs to know or just to address it with physio? Does it go in my notes from physio to GP?

What do you think I should do?

Correction, 'FL' should read 'GP'

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I would say that with any new symptoms or persistent symptoms then it is advisable to consult and discuss it with your GP just to have other conditions ruled out of the equation.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

agree with Ken, if its anything new, check it out, not everything is FM, might be something treatable to make it go away. Hope so. xx

If it was me I would let them know what is going with you. Never know what it is. Because you don't want to let it get any worse then what it is. You don't want to were they can't do anything about it. When I get new things going on with me I always tell my doctor no matter what. I have been have problems with my left shoulder blade I told my primary doctor and she thought it was my spine. My pain management doctor said it is my shoulder blade even my PT thanks so to. Now I have a machine that s called Empi Select Tens device. I just got it yesterday and we all are hoping it works for me. If it doesn't then I will have to go back to my orthopedic doctor. I had this pain over four months now. For my advice tell them what is going on.

Thanks,

Mary

Hope your machine does the trick.

Thanks for your advice, I'll try and get one of our female GP's, they're a bit more sympathetic x
