Hi Keeleybee
I don't know if Fibro affects tendons but I have been unable to do anything with my left shoulder for the last few months now.
Have to wash my hair one handed in the shower, can't hang my washing out, can't put my bra on or tie my hair up and once I get a t-shirt or jumper on I can't get the blummin thing off again without help -grrr - it is so debilitating and never known pain like it.
Physio said it is tendonitis - rheumatologist garbled on about hardened socket or something - I dunno he spoke that quick and my stupid brain couldn't remember a single thing he said when I came out.
Waiting for a scan and then hopefully a cortisone injection to give me some relief.
Keeps me awake every single blummin night and then I can't concentrate in work - I have a foggy head all day.
reaching the end of my tether with it all and feel like sobbing constantly but I need to keep working or I will lose my house. They will end up sacking me - or retire me at 49 due to ill health ;-(
Oh I do hope the injection works, they are meant to be good! I suffer terribly with my arm's and I no its life stopping when they are really bad, which sounds like your arm/shoulder is.
Keep me posted after the injection x
Hi Keeleybee
Thanks for your kind thoughts. I had no idea it could be fibro connected. I am sure these blummin specialists think I am making it up. Gonna speak to GP next week and tell him not to bother sending me there. He is the only one that seems to listen and has sorted all my medication. He is very good and trying so hard to help. The rheumatologist is a waste of time and space π xx
How do you manage with your tendons π
Have they mentioned frozen shoulder because that's excruciating a pain like no other.I have had two and they take years to clear up .I hope you get some relief .x
Hi Matrix
That has not been mentioned - would that be a common name for the one of the things that have do you think?
Just looked up the symptoms and that sounds like exactly me.
Surely there has to be a reason though?
Says it can be caused by a recent injury - mine seems to stem from a car accident last March - never been right since ;-(
Thanks for the info - I will ask my physio on Friday - if I remember that is haha
Hi sweetie. If it's frozen shoulder you won't be able to put your bra on alone or do much of anything .Its can be caused by tendinitus and we fibros have it very often .I have it in arms legs everywhere . Ask physio I pray you don't have it because it's a slow healer .Drop me a message when you have been I would love to hear what they said .x
Thanks for your concern Matrix. I fear you may be right and I don't need the physio to tell me )-:
I have been looking it up and it almost exactly describes my symptoms from when they started to how it is now.
It is so bad at the moment )-:
I will discuss it with him on Friday though just to hear what he says.
I am wondering if the scan will be a waste of time - been trying to put off going back to the GP until after the scan as the poor guy is not wiser than me about how to treat it - I am already on Opiates and I don't want to increase the dose just because I can't cope with my arm.
I have applied for PIP as I am really struggling with and I don't want to lose my job because I am unable to drive.
If I can get access to transport at least that would help.
I had no idea that it is related to the fibro - gosh it is such as a wicked, cruel and debilitating illness - can't believe nobody has yet found a source or cure for it )-:
If I didn't have to work, I would work on fund raising, research and awareness of this - it is so awful - sometimes it feel like I have no life at all and there is no end, no prognosis, and no blummin relief from it!!
In this day and age it is totally unbelievable xx
Hi jinni, it's not exclusive to fibromyalgia lots of others get it too. When I had it if my husband didn't put my bra on before he went to work I couldn't have it on . I couldn't bathe , everytime I forgot and moved the pain was excruciating and it would make me cry it was so bad . That was three years then it started on the left another three years . I don't want it be that for your sake and if it is just do the excersise they will give you . Xx
Hi landslider, I had cortisone injections in both my elbows at aged 15 and I've never looked back and got discharged from the hospital, I had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis so not sure if I just grew out of it but it certainly worked for me and I'm 52 now. I just had to have hip replacements later on aged 25 but that was osteo as they were probably weak and I just wore them out from working. Good luck and hope it works for you.
Thanks Cath88
Hi there sorry to hear your in pain and confusion fibro is like that always leaving one unsure if it is an injury or something else is wrong with me. Well as for your question fibro is anything tissue muscle joints and sometimes even mimics nerve pain. If you haven't sprained it or nocked it then it probably is fibro and there really isn't any logic in it but what I will add is if you can manage your stress levels then that can be a help. As for the pain that relaxing can help or some meds form the doctor. There are fibro management groups that really helped me tap into and understand my fibro symptoms and how to manage my stress a little better. Most of all met more fibro mites and left me feeling a lot more chilled with this ever horrible illness. So hope you find some peace and relaxation xx
Thank you oh this fibro is crazy... Random pains and no not knocked it story of my life pain without injury HA. X
Hi Royal
I take Targinact which is an opiate plus etoricoxib and amitriptyline to help with pain and sleep. Mostly makes life manageable but doesn't even start when the shoulder gets into action. Am gonna arrange a GP appointment next week as I can't bear this for another month or more until I have cortisone injection π I am becoming more and more tired π« Trying to stay positive but it is really difficult when the tiredness becomes so strong it makes you feel sick and get nodding dog syndrome in work lol π
You poor thing!
I do think I need stronger med's just a Bit scared really because I no there more addictive.... I do love amitriptyline tho they do help me alot x
Yeah I get scared too - that is why I try to ignore it most of the time so if I get really bad I can try something. Was thinking of asking if I can have something extra just to take as a top up when it becomes unbearable but not on an everyday basis x
Suppose I could down a bottle of wine - that would comatose me hee hee
Just the hangover and sick feeling afterward I don;t relish - such a lightweight I am lol x
Hi there Landslider It reminds me of when It seemed I was for ever exhausted id nod of anywhere even when my daughter was at her first pre midwife appointment , I couldn't believe it happening there which is doubly stressfully as I feel im really letting her down. of course this tops up the exhaustion .... say no more. Even today I only make it through and average day and feel I've done all I can do and always loose consciousness, even when visiting in the day with my family. Unfortunately for me my other conditions, bulging discs nerve damage in my thigh s that caused my painful flat feet make it difficult to manage so u just get on and do what I can when I can. I hope your safe at work when this happens to you and secondly realise how it must leave you feeling so vulnerable to others.. As for the addiction side I found myself realising that short of a miracle im on meds for life. so anything would become addictive. What I would like to add is that sometimes by managing our stress and doing less, pain management can be a far better way, as we get used to meds and then nothing will work. So I save the extra dosage for when I know I just need it that day. I've learnt to take it seriously and respect it im on pregabalin, paracetomal that acts as a base line for my tramadol, and of course my amyltripoline to help me relax from restless legs etc. plus duloxetine for my nerve pain. I don't know if this helps just hope it does x
Hi Royalspec
I am sure your daughter would never think you are letting her down and it you are amazing for being there with her despite how you are feeling.
That losing consciousness feeling is absolutely horrid isn't it. It is like a huge wash that drags your brain down and squashes all the oxygen out of you. No matter how much you fight it just smothers you.
When I am in work, I am sitting at a computer and I have to get up and go out of the office into the car park to try to breathe it away. I can do that where I am at the moment.
Sometimes when I am driving I have to wind the window right down so the wind blows so hard in my face I can't sleep - although that wash tries its god darned best to beat me.
Thank you for the advice re stress and doing less. When I am at home I don't do very much at all because I actually can't.
I am noticing more and more that my weekends are spent feeling absolutely awful. I forget sometimes but the last 4 weekends I have planned to do some uni work and not been able to think so that is my measure.
Not even dressed today - sucks doesn't it. Lovely day outside and I am indoors feeling horrid and sorry for myself.
Just last year, I would have gone for a lovely walk with my pooch or a climb in the mountains )-:
You are right about being vulnerable to others - I visit people's homes and sometimes they may as well be talking to the wall. It is just as well that I write everything down - I am really scared that I may fall asleep one of these days and lose my job.
I think it is the adrenaline of the unknown that wins in these situations at the moment. This is a new job for me and I worry that when that adrenaline diminishes, and I become more relaxed, the inevitable will happen.
I hope you will enjoy some remission soon - just in time for your new grandchild - though I am sure the excitement of the new arrival will fill you with enough adrenaline to enjoy the moment xx
you are so right about it being ever horrible Royalspec )-;
I have worked with many people with disabilities and illness over the years and I truly believe this is one of the most cruel, debilitating and life changing ones - and it is so hard to get people to recognise how it actually makes you feel - especially SPECIALISTS!!!
I have never been made to feel so much like a liar and a fabricator - and I don't even bother telling them half the stuff - have usually forgotten if I am having a good day anyway. Either that or I am too tired to engage my brain enough to explain lol xx
Hi hun. Sorry to hear your wrist is giving you so much pain. Hugs hope it gets better soon xx
I posted some pics that might be of help.
Hello my lovely
Yes I get pain in my tendons. Especially my legs. I need to move around for at least an hour in the mornings to get everything moving.
Whenever I stretch my arms out they hurt.
Actually my whole flipping body hurts from top to toe.
Have you thought about Carpel Tunnel? Not sure if I've spelt that correctly.
Lots of love
Lu xx
Hello lu lu
was tested about two years ago for carpal tunnel but was negative but I have been thinking it could be that? I suppose I need to go back to the quacks and tell them..... I need to back anyway the chemist didn't give me my cocodamol as I need a review!
my arms and leg hurt. Stretch as well Hope your ok tho bless ya x
Yes I do a lot also my hands fingers and arms My neck too Yes pain every were all over .
I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve. This is one of the Fibro symptoms that I experience the most and it is absolutely horrid! So you have my complete sympathy. I am still to find a way / medication that actually works for this as unlike when I get back pain / sciatica I use a TENS machine which usually works in that area.
I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hi Keeleybee, yes it is a tendon and if you look on this website, it tells you more about it: fibromyalgia-facts-fictions...
Good luck
