meds and me!!

when it comes to meds my body seems to say no way hosey and decides its best to rejectone way or another! ,I have been on amitryptiline for years(not that they seem to do much) and my body seems to be okay with them

however I decided to do a bit of detective work and found a drug called nefopam(it's brand name is acupan) apparently it has been out there for years so it is not a new drug

it won't get rid of pain but will work in a way that your brain interprets pain signals ( like most painkillers then)

soooo, I spoke to my g.p today on the 'phone and he says he is happy to prescribe them for me and we will start very low dose & gradually creep up on them (so hopefully my body will not notice and won't go into reject mode!!!)

I will let you all know in a few months if I ended up (a) with any pain relief and (b) if my body didn't reject it!!

Hi EJ, didn't recognise you 😉😀

I really hope that this new to you medication, can creep in unnoticed and make a difference to your pain levels. It must be so frustrating that your body won't tolerate most things, so I really really hope this works for you.

Sending you huge amounts of positive healing vibes 😃😃

ha ha foggy,I cunningly disguised myself as my hamster Pandora ,a cunning plan indeed!( sorry I sound like baldrick from blackadder!)

just come out of hosp from surgery two and a half weeks ago so feel rather delicate, and have no family that care or bother about me ,so I can't winge to them because they don't care,so I thought I would talk on here and winge to my fella instead (and the hamster!)no wonder she is curled up in here bed with earplugs in as we speak!

by the way eventually the doctors decided why I was itching continually all over could be to do with my hormones or hrt patches

defo not hrt patches as I was on them 2 years before the itching!!

I do go days where it isn't too bad ,then I am back to itching like a bear on a fuzzy tree!!

i am just a medical mystery!!

i was going to leave my body to medical science when i die,but all the op's i have had in the last several years there is not much left to give them!!

this time i went to hosp for op they took away some of my bowel, ( long story)

i also don't have a bladder it was removed 2008, so as you can see they are slowly taking bits of me ,(now i am not into conspiracy theories!!)but i think they are somehow making a clone or replica of me ,bit by bit somewhere

i told my fella that and his exact words were " Christ i hope not!!

i was really feeling the love ,when he said that i must say !!soft ,delicate hugs ! ej

Hi

Welcome back 😊 I hope you are making a good recovery from your op.

I would be very interested to hear how you get on. Firstly because I heard of that drug recently but I'm blowed if I can remember any more! (Darned Fibro fog)

Secondly because my body rejects mostly antibiotics and antidepressants.

I know for sure that Fibro is very unique to all of us but I live in hope of finding help with my pain.

I'm so sorry you've had to have so many ops. Luckily for me, mine have mostly been minor ones.

Take care of yourself

xx
