Hi eg59

I had MRI scan in march and am having jaws done again in 2weeks. Do you have tmj an its own or other symptoms too.?They might want to concentrate on other areas if first scan inconclusive. Try not to worry as its good they're being thorough.

Hi there

Yes I suffer severely from tmj and fibro.

Tonight just happens to be a rough night.

I did have an MRI recall and not to worry .

They wanted to see if arthritis was setting in both sides of my face .

Its good to hear they are being thorough.

I hope you get all the answers you need to help heal .Tmj is awful I got it so bad tonight I how's from my face down into my neck shoulders and even my arms and legs sore tender and very painful .

The headache and tension in the back of the neck is excruciating pain right now.

Oh well it will settle down soon for me just as it will for you.

Time is a vurture ...forget patience I lost that a long time ago.. Lol.

Take care and I truly wish you all the best.

Sweetdreams1234.

Barb.

Never had surgery for my tmj I was diagnosed with it about ,,8months or so.

I don't want to have surgery if at all avoidable.

I try to take the pain at all costs.

I hate the facial pain and neck pain but it is there all the time here lately so I don't know .

Hope you feel better soon.

try and get a specialist dentist who could make you some splints to wear. If you do have surgery go to birmingham city hosp as they are the top hosp for tmj and know about fibro.

I hope this helps

I have TMJ with my Fibro but never had MRI to diagnose TMJ although have had for other stuff. It was the Oral/Max specialist who told me about TMJ and he was the first Doctor to tell me Fibro was a possibility when he pressed inside my mouth & I had to be prised off the ceiling with the pain! I was then referred by Oral/Max to a Neurologist who gives me injections of Botox into the affected muscle 3 to 4 times a year - don't know how I'd cope without them now.

Thank you for your reply. Have been referred to dental hospital by my gp. Dental hospital say I have tmj and I have a splint when I sleep. Not really sure what MRI of jaws can find so surprised why I have a recall so soon. Take care xx

Hi eg59

I've got Fibro and TJM I know how difficult it can be, but as the comments

have assured us both, you can be recalled so try not to worry. My GP diagnosed

mine asked me if I grind my teeth. NO never have. However pain and discomfort

throughout the day. Does anyone have one side of the face swell and redden.

Also the cracking and crunching is so loud, it can be heard by people around me.

Is this normal. Should I ask for MRI...or as I do with Fibro just keep taking meds.

Advice appreciated
