Hi all,
Just a wee question what is the vitamin deficiency I should be checking out?
Hi all,
Just a wee question what is the vitamin deficiency I should be checking out?
The one that seems to crop up often is vitamin D, there may be others. Lou x
D definite B maybe
I have a vitamin D deficiency, and I take an Acrette D3 daily which I get on prescription. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.
Al my hopes and dreams for you

Go for a vitamin D and b vitamins.
It's thought that FMS sufferers are often deficient in Magnesium. But you also need to take the Vitamin B complex, especially Vitamin B6, to aid absorption of Magnesium. A good quality Multi-Vitamin and Mineral supplement would also help. But you have to be patient as the effects of supplements are cumulative and it can take up to 3 months to feel their full effect. Good luck
Morning Lizzy, i have just had a look on Pinterest about vitamins and fibro. Apparently we are short of a vast variety of vitamins fro B12 to k to z, I am even more confused now than i was.
I were were you i think that i would just ask my gp to have me tested for vitamins.

No 'one size fits all', we're all different, even us fibromites. I don't need any As Sue says get your tests at the surgery, it doesn't cost anything but a little prick
To really see your vitamin deficiencies get a hair analysis/allergy test done costs about £50, you'll be surprised at what comes up, mine was vit A, B12, B6, B2, B3, B9. Mineral deficiencies were iodine, iron, chromium. Various foods dairy is a big no no for me, gluten, onion, sugar, alcohol. It's worth the money knowing what your body really needs.
I agree with the above about the Vitamin B complex and the Magnesium and I take supplements for both; I also take a hefty dose of Vitamin C, I am sure when I was researching the Magnesium it was suggested to take the Vitamin C with it and if nothing else it helps to keep the colds at bay during the winter. I have only just added the Vitamin B Complex so waiting to see if my energy levels increase with this. I certainly noticed an improvement in my symptoms when I started the Magnesium and Vitamin C so if you are not already taking it it is worth a try. I found that the best option was to take a Magnesium Malate version as this helps with energy levels and has less of the possible side effects given that Magnesium Stearate is used in laxatives. Good luck I hope you find the best combination to suit you.
