Hi all

Finally feel like I'm getting somewhere. My new Dr booked me to have a bunch of tests done and finally started me on some meds.

Gabapentin 300mg 1,@beftime.

Took the first dose last night and OMG..awoke this morning and I was do impressed with the med.I could actually feel my legs and my back sciatica was so relaxed ...I thought to myself wow I'm finally starting to feel normal again.

I had my first physio class today to for an hour heat and tens machine and the physiotherapist couldn't believe that my muscles were do locked up I guess it was worse than I thought. I'm hoping it continues.

Also would like to recommend a lose dose of tramadol50mg.just not yet in one week she wants to see how the gabapentin works .

I'm so far Happy.

Any suggestions on the meds I'm just wondering others experience.

Thanks all.

Hugs.

I take 3 3 times daily and the 9 has been in the last 12 months as i was on 6 a day before that . My very smart gp increased them when i finally got to him as he is very hard to get in our practice as everybody wants to see him. If 1 pill helps you sleep happy days but they can increase to suit you. Oh the 9 im on a day is very good but times i feel "doped up" but its either one or the other .

I'm new to this site and was recently diagnosed with fibro but reading your stories (and woes) does help. I'm on lots of medication, including gabapentin 4x300mg daily, and morphine tabs and liquid for my arthritis – trying different nerve blocks meds for fibro not much luck yet.

I'm on 600mg daily and doing very well with it. I did try to come off them a couple of weeks back and although the pain was completely manageable I was falling asleep at work... so back on them now!

Glad to hear you are impressed so far x

Really happy for you Sweetdreams1234!

Although I am still hurting in places I had the same effect with Amitriptyline. My muscles are really less painful.

From the first day taking it, I was feeling that I was getting my life back.

Hi, I'm so pleased for you! isn't that also called Lyrica? Only I'm going to come off it as soon as I can. Sorry to burst your balloon but if it's the same stuff, just watch your diet as it can increase your intake. I've put on a stone every year! If you're careful though you could be fine and to have such a great result! Wow, it's worth sticking with. Soft hugs

Hi there

No its not the same as Lyrica at all.

(Pregabalin).

Gabapentin is doing wonders for me.

I was on lyrica..but had a lot of side effects immediately do I had to stop.

I'm so happy to have my life somewhat back.

Wishing you all the best.

Gabapentin is different to Lyrica (Pregabalin). I've been on gabapentin for some years now, I tried to change to pregabalin but it caused too many side-effects so I went back on gabapentin. I haven't put on any weight (in fact I've lost weight).

I find gabapentin helpful as long as I take it with other drugs, eg nortriptyline, ibuprofen, codeine, and a few others.

I hope it continues to help you, Sweetdreams, and that you feel much better from now on.

Wishing you all the very best,

Mim x

Really glad you have found something that works well for you. I might give it a try! I feel ok with the meds I am on but it's not perfect. Definitely food for thought.
