Hi everyone I'm new here but have been reading different forum posts on Fibro for a while now. I'm 29/F/Uk and was diagnosed with FM after months of being convinced I had MS Of course I was relieved when I was told I had a condition that wasn't terminal or degenerative but almost two years post diagnoses its been like a rollercoaster. It took AGES to find the right mix of meds to get rid of the pain and when I finally managed to get the right meds and dose I so happy to finally be pain free I was literally back to normal again (Side note, dose was now 3 x 300mg gabapentin, with 2 x 25mg Amitriptaline) but what did I go and do once I was pain free? I quit smoking using a medication called CHAMPIX. Well. Biggest mistake EVER. Yes it worked wonders in completely destroying any nicotine craving whatsoever (I used to be 40 a day) and I now smoke Zero. But it completely messed up my meds and my fibro pain since starting the champix has come back with a vengeance. I've now been off the champix for 4 weeks but still continue to be in pain despite increasing amityptaline. So I will visit my GP tomorrow to talk to him about trying some meds. I'm also taking a zopiclone every day (in the day) just take the edge of the pain. Anyway I apologise for rambling on (and the terrible spelling) I'm just so fed up and lonely. I have great friends and family but no one can really understand unless they have it too. I get sick of hearing myself complain about it so I don't even bother telling people about it anymore I just grin and bear it but I'd love to make friends with people who know what its like. Anyone looking for a chat buddy get it touch perhaps it would help to speak to others in the same boat. Take care all X

Sometimes It feels so isolating
*hugs* It sounds like you've been having a rough time but well done you for giving up the smoking - that can only benefit your health in the long run. Fibro is such a monster at times, and hopefully your GP can advise you how to get your pain levels back under control. There's always someone here with a listening ear if you need it.
