It's official , finally after 14 years I've been told I have fibro. I'm happy I know that I'm not crazy , but sad to think I'm stuck with this. However, I'm going to be positive Rheumy is writing to my gp, wants me to have some blood tests, going to see pain management team, hydro pool and physio. So all in all a positive thing. Now I can apply for pip to help financially as struggled for so long as not able to work full time due to fatigue.
love to all my fibro friends. May I wish you a painless and peaceful night x

I`d say welcome to the club, except that you, I, nor anyone else wants to be in it. So i will just say that at least now you know and can plan around it and get on without constantly wondering if and hoping that you have something curable. stay positive. hugs sue
Real sorry that you have this, but so glad you have finally had confirmation. It can be a hell of a fight to get to that point some times, and has been for many of us.
We're all here to love and support you
Gentle hugs

Hi Huskybike
I am so pleased the fight for diagnosis is over for you I waited 20yrs so can appreciate how you must feel right now
It is such a relief to be able to finally answer the question 'what's wrong with you?' with 'Fibromyalgia and I find it can be quite debilitating some days'
I found it quite overwhelming when I was diagnosed last year and I'd researched heavily into fibro and knew all about it but for some reason it still overwhelmed me I found this site and learned so much more and met some fantastic people too.
You are here as one of us, where we care and share our experiences and advice and as our other fibromites say 'welcome to the club' and I hope you can now relax a little and breathe despite having this 'irritating' illness.
Sending healing fluffies infused with lavender to help soothe away any pain
Good morning and welcome to the site This is probably the best place to come for information, support, A good rant when needed and a good laugh at times
If you go to the top of the page and click on the yellow butterfly it will take you to the fibro action web site, There you will find lots of info.
Feel free to ask questions or just join us in coversations or luney make believe adventures hugs sue xx
It is a relief isn't it to know that all the aches and pains have a name and that there are others in the same boat more than willing to share their experiences with you.
Glad you found the site and don't forget to check out all the really useful information and log on to the news letter as well by either clicking on the butterfly or by going to fibroaction.org have a good look around may be really helpful to you.
Please do remember that although we have experience there is nothing like a health professionals view point so always check out new things with them as well as here with us happy lot.
At last, a diagnosis! A proper reason for feeling so awful, (even though it is not a very nice condition) It is good to look someone in the eye and say with confidence that you have a recognised illness.
You now have something tangible to focus on and I wish you well in managing fibro, pain management is a good place to start.
Thought I'd spoken to you on this. Another message vanished into the ether. perhaps it's those evil cats.
Yeah, kind of relief all round to know what you're dealing with however difficult but looks like you have loads of help - more than some suffer. Good on yer. Gentle hugs x
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you do in fact have this horrid illness, but I am sure that it has genuinely put your mind as rest.
I sincerely hope that you can find the medications that you need to allay the pain and keep you doing exactly what you want to do.
