Hi Nikki,

You have many challenges with which to cope right now.

I am sure it feels overwhelming at this time. :(

Many members here have very similar challenges and have made it through. This is a very informative and supportive forum. Please keep asking questions and join in anywhere you feel led to do so. :)

Many will share how they have survived the many challenges. :)

I had to learn to take life just one day at a time. Sometimes, I must take it a moment at a time.

I do best when I stay in the Present Moment and do not get ahead of myself with concern about the future and do not fret about the past. :)

There are other times, as when we are filing for disability assistance and/or doing financial planning, when we must, of course, look at the future. As a general rule though, I can help myself, and anyone else, best -- if I am fully Present in each moment.

What do you need to be as comfortable as you can be, to be as nourished and as healthy as you can be in this moment, or today/tonight?

There's more. There are so many coping tools available! :)

MDaisy had just posted a "Fibroaction Fibromyalgia A-Z Guide" here in the posts for today. It's hot off the press! Look it up and have a read! It's outstanding and is just one of the many tools available/shared here. :)

Here's the link: healthunlocked.com/fibroact...

The mother site address is: fibroaction.org

Keep coming back and asking questions, participating as you wish. I think you will find lots of education, support and also some laughs! :)

I am sure admin and/or other members will be along shortly to fill you in on anything I have left out. :)

To Your Healing,

Crazy_Horse

Hi nikkilovatt

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues. I have Osteoarthritis, as well as Fibro and a few other illnesses and it is not easy at times to be able to do the things that I want to do. I always think it is best to try and pace yourself, in that if a job takes 20 minutes then give yourself half an hour to do it. This is not always possible at work but if you ask for an Occupational Health Assessment then your employer should make reasonable changes for you.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hello Thearthor,

I went to occupational health at work, they did a report regarding my health issues. I worked locally on zero hours they never gave me a contract but would never admit it was anything to do with my limited walking and unsteady standing. After the report was submitted a few months later, I was called into my managers office and asked to leave.

Gutted is nowhere near how I feel.

But, to be honest I was getting worse, but I still feel disappointed

Hi Lottieonline

I am so very sorry to read that, as you must have had a very poor employer to treat you so horribly. You are such a lovely person and to be treated in that manner is awful. When my wife started to take ill with her MS, the college brought in an Occupational Therapist and they have made all kinds of changes to accommodate her. This is the way that it should work with a good employer but your ex-employer couldn't even offer you a proper contract?

Please take care of yourself and I genuinely hope that you are as well as can be?

Hi Nikki,

I am sorry to hear of your conditions and I do understand how hard it is to work with all these conditions as employers have very little understanding and usually want to get rid of you some how when they know you are not well usually by making things unpleasant and difficult for us at work. I have experienced this over the years I left my last job 6 years ago due to my health and I just could not cope with work fulltime, so I left. I had to claim ESA through the jobcentre and they still tried to get me to go to work with all my health problems, they too do not understand how we suffer with pain. I also have osteoarthritis in both knees, hands, neck and feet and also suffer with severe fibromyalgia. I have B12 injections every 3 months, I suffer with bad Irritable bowel and depression. I do not sleep well and get very tired all the while. I have brain fog and slurred speech due to the medication for the fibro. I take each day as it comes some days I feel really depressed I don't want to get dressed or go out anywhere as it is such an effort and I cant walk to far as I get tired and in so much pain. My partner is great he helps me so much as I am very limited to what I can do which is at times very little or nothing. I am so grateful and lucky to have him.

You are not alone with your conditions there are a lot of us out here also suffering some people suffer in silence and have to cope. I hope your employers are understanding as that takes a lot of worry and pressure from you so you can somehow cope with work. I am new to this site I have read a lot of peoples messages and can so relate to each one, which helps me to cope and I hope it also helps you as well.

Each day is a challenge, take it as it comes a day at a time , keep to your limitations and rest as much as you can. Find some way of relaxation and if anyone offers to help you in anyway then say yes please, don't feel guilty of asking for help. You deserve it, we all do. I hope you get some comfort from this site and wish you well, stay positive it is hard I know. If you feel like talking just message me and I will try and help in any way. God bless you take care. Kind regards Etelka

So sorry to hear that you're going through si much at the moment. I'm not surprised you're off work!

I have fibromyalgia and pernicious anaemia and vitamin D deficiency. I've been off work for 3 months, I've applied for PIP. You can claim it whether you're working or not. I'm hoping to return to work, but like yourself I am unable to stand for long or walk far.

Each day I try and look for all the positives, even small things like having less pain or being able to stand longer or walk further that day.

Acceptance of fibromyalgia is the hardest thing I've had to deal with, it's taken a long time. I try to remember to pace myself each day, this I think has been one of the hardest challenges of fibro for me.

Have you had a review recently of your medication? Ask your GP for a referral to physio for hydrotherapy if you haven't already.

How are work being with you? It's a worry I know financially I'm worried about going into half pay in a couple of months, but I try and stay positive.

I accept help now when it's offered and ask for it when I need it also. This is a difficult thing asking for help, but it's important that you don't try and struggle on your own it'll make your stress levels worse and increase your pain.

As difficult as it is, try not to worry about the future cocentrate on looking after your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Please let us know how you get on.
