So tired of being in pain.
I have no idea what it is, but if I even rub my leg/arms/sides back etc when itching (which I have a lot) I get deep shooting pains which intensify for about a minute, then the area feels bruised what is this

I have the same feelings i have no idea what it is tho. Sorry i cant help but wanted you to know your not alone x
I have the same when I've over done things mostly but it could hurt anytime aswell..... Hope you find some relief soon xx
Really?? Although I don't want anyone to suffer I'm glad I'm not alone!! I thought I was going mad!! Have either of you been to doctors about it? X
Fibro can cause Allodynia. like your body hairs feel like needles when touched . Even clothes make your skin hurt xx
I have to keep my legs shaved or my clothes touching the hairs feel as though they are being pulled out one by one... sue
sorry your in this pain, luckily I haven't had this, I can't imagine it being that sensitive x
Me too but I have folliculitis problems which is a nightmare to get rid of as its where the hairs can't push through the skin properly and if get infected can be quite nasty so its the better of two evils for me, I wear lose baggy clothing with exception to soft leggins as a base layer that don't bother me too much. xxx sian
Hi Charlotte I'd just typed a response which got sucked into oblivion somewhere
So here goes again
You're not alone experiencing this type of pain as fibromites we all have them in our own ways we're a friendly bunch here and shall try to advise and support you wherever we can. If you write all these experiences down in a diary it will help you when you visit the doctor and also help you to distinguish whether something is getting worse or maybe better especially with respect to medications, or new.
As you'll have found with your research there are so many things going on which is why I suggest the diary, I did it and found it quite beneficial for the doctor, consultants and myself too.
Huge pain busting fluffies for you xxxsianxxx
Thank you, I'm defiantly going to buy myself a little diary tomorrow and get writing, I have noticed I'm more stressed resently, after op and Uni commitments, which i think is contributing to feeling run down and pain. I've never connected the two.. Thanks xx
Hi - I have this happen to me also. I am really sorry but I haven't got the answer to your question. But you are not alone in this - I just wanted you to know that x
Hi Charlotte,
How awful - I'm sorry you have to go through this. I get slight discomfort after scratching an itch but nothing like you've described - for me it feels worth it to get rid of the itch! My friend wrote a post a couple of months ago describing a similar thing and someone suggested gently rubbing the itch with the piece of towelling material - I've tried it and it does cause less pain.
Hope this helps.
Gentle (((hugs)))
