There are a couple of sites on the internet to help with this, although the form isn't bad if you try to think of your average day whilst describing your condition. Start from the minute you wake to the time you go to bed and think of every little pain and struggle you have. Even describe embarrassing things such as pulling up underwear, wading down below or wiping yourbotty if these are things that you struggle with. Tell how it affects you mentally too. Talk about any equipment you have or need. Don't forget that your pain or difficulties don't have to be constant, just regular and often, more than half of your week for example. If things take a long time to do, even though you can do them state it. If you have to have help state who helps and how often. Make sure you tell your Dr all this too, as they will write to them to support your claim. Give contact details for any health professional or social worker you have assistance from such as the OT, physics or consultants. If someone is your carer they can also write a statement about what care they provide for you, this could be your partner, child or friend. Then don't forget things that aren't every day such as holidays, going out or shopping, and cleaning or taking care of children. If you have a pet and are claiming mobility component they want to know how you exercise your dog etc. Be as honest and detailed as you can and you will do just fine. X
There is a website called benefits and work which will help you fill in the form I'm going to be using it to help me fill in that form too. Good luck hope it helps.
Citizens advice filled my forms in as i could not write that much. They filled it in different to how I would have, but explained why and they were correct. They see things in a more professional way than we do and use the right language.
Thank you
Hi katy198
I would check out a website called ''benefits and work'' as it has loads of useful information on it. As for completing the forms I would make an appointment at the Citizens Advice Bureau as they have their own benefits departments.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
