pip they have done away with the lowest rate care , so if I do get the care part still I wanted to know if it was back dated to when I applied as its a greater amount than the dla , also how long have some of you waited for an answer after having your medical I had mine on mon this week many thanks hugs to all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

what happens at the assessment, do they just ask questions and how many "healthcare professionals" are there

There is a set criteria of questions that you are asked relating to how your disability affects your everyday life and your everyday activities. I can only comment on when they come to your home, and then there is just one medical professional.

When my wife was changed over from DLA to PIP, her DLA ran constantly until her PIP was sorted and there were no breaks in the payments. She was on a lower band with DLA but was awarded enhanced rate PIP. From what I gather, when you are on DLA and then invited to apply for PIP, your DLA will run until your PIP is finalised.
