I would wait till the people who are looking at your form contact him direct. If you have any letters from other health professionals I would send them and copies of any other info that might be relevant such as a list of your medication. The form has a section for you to add details of anyone who you are currently seeing, such as your GP, and they are contacted direct. Good luck, Linda.

Hi Linda,i have an appointment to see my gp on Thursday I will mention it to him see what he says he got me my dla in first place and also when I was put in the wrong group for my esa he sorted that he is very much on my side I was just thinking maybe if he sent a letter with my forms it may be that I don't need to see them ? wishful thinking on my part lol thanks anyway Deborah

Hi Kerry29

I am so sorry to read that you were unaware that if your Fibro is making you very ill then you can apply for disability benefits. I have pasted you a link to the GOV.UK site page, how to claim PIP.

gov.uk/government/publicati...

DLA is now being phased out and replaced by PIP, I want to wish you all the best of luck if you decide to make a claim.

All my hopes and dreams for you

have you asked your gp, consultant(s) and other medical staff for letters of support? ask them to send their letters direct to you to put in your claim pack. make several copies as you may need them again.

you can also include info from reliable sources such as fibroaction (click on the butterfly at the top right of this page)

there will be a "return by" date in your letter, please don't miss that date, it can affect your payments.

email mdaisy info@fibroaction.org for the help sheets.

regards,

h :)

Hi jane59

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I would personally wait with your GP letter until they contact him / her. However, if you have any other letters or endorsements from Consultants, Specialists, Nurses etc I would send these straight away. It is always a really good idea to have as many people as possible on board so ask them for letters if you need too? Write all their contact details in all the spaces provided.

I also want to wish you all the luck in the world with your claim.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi there, i would enclose letter from gp, the more info they have from the beginning the less likely it is they will need to se you, and they can contact your gp if they need to know more. Add anyone else you see from physio to consultant it all helps give a bigger picture. A friend of mine got her application early and they turned her down, ending her dla from when they received forms, a couple of months earlier than it was due to end!

they are taking so long to decide people are left waiting but their money stops. I had to return my car during an appeal last year, it was awful! I couldn't go out and struggled to manage. I won my appeal, but it badly affected me.

Hi send as much supporting evidence as possible ie doctors letters / passed medicals as long as they are in your favour . The more you send them the better do not assume that they look at your past medicals or Dla forms . Best to send them everything you have to support your claim and please keep copy's of all you send them . Please send registered post so you have that to prove you sent it back . It is best if you get help to fill in forms . Sorry ment to add even a letter of support of how your condition affects you from someone close to you ie partner / carer or friend
