Hi, for a month now my right leg was hurting, now the pain is starting from my lower back traveling down to my hip all the way to my foot
Hi,
it could be sciatic nerve causing it. Has your doctor checked for that? A Chiropractor may be able to help if that is the case.
Hugs

My pcp did a X-ray last week on my back and showed no sciatic. This past Monday I went for ultrasound showed a lil swelling by my knee. I did get a referral to the pain and spine doctor... I hope I can get in ASAP
I hope you can get seen ASAP too, TT! I had to have an MRI about 3 years ago to get to the root of my problem - it turned out that I have a protruding herniated disc, pressing down on the nerves to my legs, which was why I was getting similar symptoms to you. I'm now on Pregabalin which really helps that type of pain. Gentle Hugs & positive healing thoughts coming your way, I hope you get an answer, & some relief soon, Julie xxx
Than you Julie. I'm at the end of my rope, i can't sleep, drive etc! My family is very helpful, but I been wanting to get an MRI done, but I don't see my pcp for another 16 days
Hi TT_2701
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering in this way and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your issue.
I am not saying that this is the problem, as I am not a doctor. However, what you have described is virtually the same as how I ended up having surgery the other day! The disc in the right side of my back moved, and all I kept getting was electric shock type pain. I had one almighty shock and fell over breaking the disc into pieces.
This happened last November, and since then, I suffer with a pain at the base of my spine and going through my bottom and leg into my foot. This really doesn't mean to say you have the same problem, but it is interesting how the similarities are?
I genuinely hope that your problem is nothing serious and I want to wish you luck with sorting it out my friend. Please keep us all up to date with how you get on?
All my hopes and dreams for you.
Ken
Thank you very much! I'm sorry to hear about urself as well! I feel helpless and it's so much pain, I have tried creams, patches, every kind of pill, oxycodone, hydros, muscle relaxers and now seems to be getting worse! I went to er yesterday they were worthless sounds bad but it's true! So I'm hoping today my doctors nurse will try to get me more advice or even a very strong medication to relieve my pain
Hi there TT_2701
I am so sorry to hear your plight with this pain I too have terrible trouble with this, my lower back is terribly bothersome and yes it goes into my legs too. I get electric shock spasms in my back which often send me sky high i have used and tried varying and types of medications and nothing helps mine either it just dulls it slightly.
I was wondering if you had checked this link out??

It has references to differing types of medications to think about if your meds aren't working. You could also consider alternative/compplementary medicines but it is important to discuss with your GP before starting them.
Here's the link to that section of the FibroAction website

Please remember I'm not a health professional and it is recommended to speak to your GP first.
I hope you find this is useful for you and wish you some respite soon

i started with the same sort of pain as your getting just over a year ago it got so bad i couldnt walk sit or stand without the worst pain ever it took blood test xrays and finally after 9 months a mri scan it turned out to be spinal stenosis i do hope you havent go the same thing beause it will change your life forever keep us posted
Sorry to hear you are suffering. I have suffered with sciatica for some years now. It first kicked off when I was 8 months pregnant with my son. It was like a sharp stabbing pain in the lower back. Only painkillers work when I have it. It always starts in my lower middle back and travels down my right leg. Sometimes at worst causing a burning sensation and at the very least I just experience a numb sensation for maybe 2 weeks, then it gradually gets better. Then I may not have it for a while Years ago they would have advised bed rest, but I think that only makes you stiff and in the long run adds to the existing pain, now the thinking is somewhat different. Take a strong painkiller, move around as much as you possible can and it will gradually get better for you I hope. It just takes time. If it dosen't get better after 3 weeks, go to your doctor as you may need further examinations.
Hi sweetheart why don't you try going to a&e if it's really bad they might be able to do a mri sooner. Good luck hun x
