Hi All,
Hope you're all well. Slightly odd question, but do any of you suffer from the sensation of having a burnt tongue? I've had it on and off for a few years, but have been stuck with it for the last 2 weeks. Any tips?

Hi Tere - Yes I am another sufferer it often feels as though I have drunk or eaten something that was too hot even though I know I haven't. I usually try to ignore it but if it gets persistant I find rinsing with some Difflam solution which tends to numb the mouth for a couple of days seems to help break the cycle. Hope others can come up with some other suggestionsx
Hi Franzy
I sincerely hope that you are feeling well today? I must admit that I have not experienced anything like this at all. The closest thing I get is a strange taste in my mouth quite regularly which I put down to my many medications?
This sounds like it is very unpleasant for you and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.
All my hopes and dreams for you

I haven't but my tongue has been swollen for sometime now. Hope you figure it out as I know it must hurt. It maybe a vitamin deficiency? I'd ask your doctor, so since in suffering as I'm sure it's painful. Hope this helps sweetheart!!! xxx Mitzi
Yes!! My tongue and the whole of the inside of my mouth are very, very sore. I even have to use children's toothpaste!! Last time I had this it was because my Vitamin B12 was very low....so it looks like I need another injection!! XX
Hi again Tere
Laid up with the back this afternoon so plenty of time on my hands so started an internet search and there is something called Burning Mouth Syndrome. I found a good article at nidcr.nih.gov/ on the possible causes and remedies which might be worth you reading as I found it informative. One of the reasons they give is vitamin deficiency which several of the others have mentioned amd medication but there are other reasons as well or sometimes no traceable reasons. One of the suggestions is actually to clean the teeth with bicarbonate of soda rather than toothpaste which i think I am going to give a try when I have an episode and chewing sugarless gum which has again been mentioned. I go for regular dental check ups so know that there isn't anything fundamentally wrong with my mouth but I do wonder whether it is medicene related as I didn't use to have it. Any way good luck to us all in finding a solution.
Strange you should mention low B12, I get this sore tongue feels swollen most of the time, just thought it was a side effect of taking Levo, but recently visited my GP as due another Thyroid blood test and she mentioned my B12 was borderline last test, so I will definitely be chasing that up after new blood results come back.
Useful site this, never know what info you might come accross.
