Hi, I've had an issue similar to this. At first, it was so bad I couldn't chew my food.I went to the dentist who gave me exercises to help(opening and closing, side to side type movements) 5 times a day. After a couple of weeks it was gone.
I can still feel my jaw click at times but it's not painful.
Hi,I have had problems for years with my jaw joint (particularly on the right side) clicking, briefly locking and painful. It can make me sound like I have a mild stutter as it locks briefly part was through a word. I also have to be careful yawning or sneezing to avoid over extendingit. According to my dentist years and years of grinding my teeth in my sleep has worn the joint badly. She gave me several exercises to do. The one that I found works the best is to hold top top front part of my tongue against the roof of my mouth and then slowly open and close my mouth, keeping the lips together.
Have a chat with your dentist- they may suggest some specific exercises suitable for your problem.
Hi Fibro guy, I have a symptom with my jaw. It is painful and now and again it just locks! And then the Jaws suddenly clamp down and I end up biting my tongue and/or inner lower lip. I get loads of ulcers and bite wounds that bleed and turn into ulcers. My doctor told me to go to see my dentist as its their expertise. I'm going to go on Monday to see what they have to say. I don't know if this helps? I hope it does. I find new symptoms worth getting checked out by your doctor. Take care and God bless, Elaine xx ππ·
I know Fibroguy π I've never been to so many different hospital appointments this last few months as I have in my whole life before! And it's ongoing too.I just take it day to day and see my doctor when I get new symptoms. Then, she refers me to the hospital! But at least, as far as I know, it doesn't kill anyone and it's not degenerative.
Yes I have fibromyalgia TMJ and it is debilitating and very hard to with. It affects my ears, face and head. I get occipital and trigeminal nerve pain and also nerve issues in my arms. I also get migraines caused by the fibromyalgia.
