Hi all,

just wanted to ask if anyone else has pain of the face. The last few days my face feels like is badly bruised but there is nothing there. Even when i am trying to put some make up on my face is so sore i could cry. The worst place seems to be my forehead and down right side of my face. Anyone heard of this?

many thanks

janet

Hi dobie62

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way and I genuinely hope that you start to feel better soon. It is a bit of a coincidence that you have mentioned this as I have just been on another post and a part of it was quite similar to yours! I pasted the lady in that post the NHS Choices link to Trigeminal-neuralgia, as this is something that my wife suffers from. It gives her horrid facial pain and headaches, and she can get very distressed with it.

I do not know if this is what you are suffering from but it may be worth comparing the symptoms on the link and then discussing this with your GP if they sound similar?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Morning wha rotten luck I do suffer from this it is usually worst in the winter. It trigers tooth ache and pains in my jaws. I often get a hot water bottle wrapped in something soft and cuddly and snuggle my face against it --- it does help a bit that and pain killers

I wish you a gentle day hopping the pain diminishes --- xgins

Hi Janet I have this and I can only describe it as if I have been hit with a baseball bat. I was diagnosed with Costens Syndrome 12 years ago. I think it is mostly from clenching my teeth, without realising that I am doing it, and like Gins I find heat helps, especially wet heat. I also have a severe sinus issue which doesn't help the situation. I am not sure how your dentist is but wearing a mouth guard can sometimes help. Good Luck x

Hello, I had a painful face for about 2 weeks in january this year. I was diagnosed with fibro-myalgia in 2008 and since then i have had an array of wierd symptoms. my illness is in the brain and it affects every part of my body and mind. I went to see a specialist on tuesday and he said that there maybe another under-lying illness that is more severe than fibro. They gave me a cortiscone injection and have sent me to the pain clinic at the local hospital. Every day is different and more weird symptoms crop up. I hope that you feel better soon, although with fibro you only get a few ''GOOD DAYS'',..
